Crowed Heads has announced a new limited edition in the Mil Días line, Mil Días Marranitos E648 LE 2023. This marks the fifth installment of limited edition Mil Días cigars. The blend for Marranitos E648 uses the same binder and filler tobaccos as the original Mil Días, but like the Marranitos EL 2022, swaps the wrapper for an Ecuadorian Sumatra.
"It's a shame the construction really took away from what could have been a quality session. The flavor profile was never really a problem, as this was a pleasant smoke flavor-wise. Being on the lighter side, this would work well for an early morning cigar. Unfortunately, when you have to focus on the construction issues as much as I did, it ruins any chance of enjoyment. Could be that it's a one-off and I just got lucky. " -Doug S. (Unpossible_1)
Lampert Cigars has announced a new line of cigars, 1675 Edicion Morado. The cigar has already started shipping to select retailers, but will see a wider release mid-April.
Lampert Cigars has started shipping their Family Reserve 2022. The cigar is a 6 x 52 toro, described as a medium-bodied, full flavor cigar blended by Hendrik Kelner Jr., Kelner Boutique Factory (KBF).
"Very spicy cigar from beginning to end. The only exception was on the cold draw, which has sweet tea notes. The spicy notes include notes of cinnamon, jalapeno, and black pepper, and licorice. Veiny construction and hard spots that don't hinder the pleasure. Good draw and burn. Very strong grey-white ash that hangs on for half of the cigar. I'd smoke this stick again and include in my humidor." -Sean F. (fullermaine)
General Cigar has announced the third iteration of their Cohiba Serie M, and this year's size will be the Prominente which measures 7 x 50. The Cohiba Serie M was the first collaboration between General Cigar and the El Titan de Bronze Cigar Factory. The new size will ship in April.
"A very solid medium body cigar from the first puff till I finished the review. The first and second thirds were very enjoyable, but towards the end it started to go flat and bring some bitterness. With the dryer smoke at the end I feel that it amplified the bitterness for me. " -Quinn (quinnpins269)
Room101 came out with the original Daruma in 2012 as a sequel of sorts to Namakubi. The cigar disappeared from the market a handful of years later, but now in 2023, the line is making a comeback.
