Emilio Cigars today announced a new addition to the Grimalkin line, Grimalkin Seasonal Edition. This cigar, like the rest of the Emilio line is rolled at James Brown's Fabrica Oveja Negra in Estelí, Nicaragua.
Numero Uno was originally a cigar given exclusively to world leaders by Nicaraguan ambassadors. It was first released to the public in 2018 as an event only cigar, then to the broader public in 2019. Now in 2021, the company is bringing back the original two sizes as an annual release.
Crowned heads released the original Mule Kick in 2012 and was their first limited edition cigar. The cigar featured a higher priming Habano wrapper than the standard line and a tweaked blend. Only 5000 were made on the first release. The original blend was released again as a 2017 limited edition then a new blend in 2018 that used a Connecticut Habano Maduro wrapper.
The FDA is taking another look at premium cigars in a move that anti-tobacco groups fear could weaken regulations. It's the latest push under Commissioner Scott Gottlieb to undertake a sweeping overall of tobacco and nicotine regulation. The FDA recently took the first step in lowering the amount of nicotine in cigarettes. It also said it's seeking information on the role flavors, including menthol, play in attracting people to tobacco products and alternatives like e-cigarettes.
The very first Montecristo was rolled in 1935; now 85 years later, Altadis is celebrating this milestone with a new cigar, the Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Nicaragua. This blend is described as a first-ever interpretation of the original blend from 1935 that made Montecristo the icon it is today.

Today, Drew Estate announced that the Director of Subculture Studios, Jessi Flores, would be leaving to pursue new business ventures. Jessi has been with the company since 1999, and was the company's second employee, after Jonathan Drew. He was responsible for the grown of Subculture Studios, receiving awards and recognition.
