Asylum Cigars and Cigar Dojo are collaborating for the first time on a limited-edition cigar called, Asylum Meshugana. Both Asylum Cigars and Cigar Dojo are celebrating their 10th anniversaries in 2022, so it made sense to celebrate together. The word Meshugana is a plays on Yiddish slang for "nonsense," "silliness," or "craziness."
2022 is the 10th anniversary of both Espinosa Premium Cigars and Cigar Dojo. To celebrate, the two have collaborated on the Cigar Dojo Travel Kit, a unique travel humidor containing new sizes of Espinosa Habano and Sensei's Sensational Sarsaparilla. Both cigars come in a new Rabito vitola that is a 6 x 48 toro with a twisted pigtail head.
The original Cigar Dojo Sensei's Sensational Sarsaparilla hit the market seven years ago. Sassy, for short, made a comeback in 2016 with Sensei's Sensational Sarsaparilla II, or Sassy II. Now, in 2021 we get a third release of this cigar, now on a national level. The original Sassy was Cigar Dojo's second collaboration, this time with Erik Espinosa. The original release was a 5½" x 52 belicoso and only 1,000 bundles of 10 were made.
Caldwell Cigar Company and Cigar Dojo announced today their first collaboration: Far Eastern Standard. This new cigar is a lancero, another first for Cigar Dojo, and pays homage to the original Eastern Standard release from Caldwell, a long time favorite of the Cigar Dojo.

Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust and Cigar Dojo are collaborating on a new Japanese-Themed Sobremesa Cigar. This marks the first time the two companies have collaborated on a cigar. The cigar is the Sobremesa Brûlée “Wagashi” 和菓子, a slightly tweaked version of the original Sobremesa Brûlée blue, Japanese-inspired twist. The name comes from a dessert delicacy of Japan that rose to cultural import during the Edo Period (1603-1857).
Cigar Dojo and Protocol Cigars are collaborating for a fourth time, this time to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Cigar Dojo. It all started with 2018's K9, followed by two more law enforcement-themed releases Night Stick and Taser. Now, the theme changes, but honors the most tenured members of law enforcement.
For the first time, Cigar Dojo and Joya de Nicaragua are collaborating on a cigar: Joya Ninjaragua. The blend has been in the works for over two years, making it the longest project Cigar Dojo has worked on before releasing. The first test blends were given out at a Cigar Dojo-led Drew Estate Cigar Safari, where a group of roughly 15 Dojo members (including myself) were given three test blends. Those members then provided feedback and the most popular blend was then tweaked several more times until the final blend took shape.
