If you've ever played Cigar Wars, you know that it is a fun and addictive cigar ranking system that pits one cigar against another in a quest to determine the highest ranking stick. If you have not played it before, check it out now, as it has re-built from the ground up, for a more personalized and comprehensive experience. The original Cigar Wars debuted in 2015, and the idea was simple. Choose between cigar (a) or cigar (b). representing a hypothetical the real-world scenario, where a smoker is offered one of two cigars to smoke that moment. Even if that person is not familiar with one or both choices, they will make a decision on other factors. Multiply this hypothetical scenario and its potential permutations by thousands, or tens of thousands of times, and you end up with an honest, fun, and accurate cigar ranking system.
Cigar Dojo and Protocol Cigars are collaborating for a fourth time, this time to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Cigar Dojo. It all started with 2018's K9, followed by two more law enforcement-themed releases Night Stick and Taser. Now, the theme changes, but honors the most tenured members of law enforcement.
2018 was the first time Cigar Dojo and Cubariqueño Cigar Co. collaborated on a cigar, "Protocol K9." The next year the duo released "Protocol Night Stick." And now, in 2021, we get the "Protocol Taser." The idea of all their collaborations has been instruments of law enforcement, now including the tactical taser. It is a valuable asset to many law enforcement agencies as a non-lethal way to incapacitate perpetrators.
"This cigar checks all of the boxes. Great construction, wonderful changes in the profile, and impactful. It kept my attention for the whole smoking experience. If you are a lager ring gauge fan, you should seek this out. It has something for every level of smoker. At a little over an hour it makes for a great smoke for any situation. Find some and share it with some friends. You won't be disappointed" -Estevan Z. (TheRealBanzi
Three years ago, RoMa Craft Tobac and Cigar Dojo collaborated for the original Whiskey Rebellion. This cigar came in one size, a robusto, and was limited to 6,000 cigars and sold exclusively through Famous Smoke Shop. It sold out in one hour. It was later expanded in vitolas and released as a regular production cigar through Famous. Now, the two companies are releasing a sequel: Whiskey Rebellion 1794 Pennsatucky.
Cigar Dojo and Alec & Bradley are collaborating again, this time on Dojo Chico. This project is an homage to the Topo Chico brand of sparkling mineral water that many cigar enthusiasts, Cigar Dojo and Blind Man's Puff included, have come to embrace while smoking a cigar.
Last year, Cigar Dojo and Aganorsa Leaf' collaborated on ReviveR, which scored a 92 in our blind review and ended up on our Top 25 cigars of the year. Now, this year, they have collaborated again on a new project, Bonsai.
I really dug the flavors I got right off the bat as well as the pepper that was there for the first inch or so. After everything mellowed out, it became a little less interesting. Slight transitions of creaminess went along with the wood. Not a bad cigar when wood was the dominant flavor, just not as desirable as the previous flavors.
