Today Crux Cigars announced an exclusive for Famous Smoke Shop, Union Fire. The name is in reference to the Union Fire Company, a volunteer fire department in Philadelphia. It was formed in part by Benjamin Franklin in 1736 known as the “Bucket Brigade” and was the first fire department of its type in the colonies.

Cigar News: Altadis Announces Montecristo Espada Oscuro

Altadis’ Grupo de Maestros is collaborating with the Plasencia family again to make a followup to their 2014 Montecristo Espada, the Montecristo Espada Oscuro. Like the original release, this is a Nicaraguan Puro. This line extension uses a Habano Rosado Oscuro wrapper instead of the Nicaraguan Habano. This wrapper was chosen by Rafael Nodal, Head of Product Capability for Tabacalera USA. Nodal, Grupo de Maestro Pedro Ventura and the Plasencia family created the blend.

Starting in May, a new series of collaborations will be shipping from United Cigars. The series is Series Unidas and the first to to market is a collaboration with Hammer & Sickle Cigars. Quick Cigar Review: Diamond Crown | Julius Caeser 1895 Perfecto

This cigar while the first two thirds had a similar profile this for sure wasn’t a bad thing.   Enjoyed this cigar from beginning to end and always happy for that next puff.    I have smoked plenty of the Julius Caesar in other sizes and have to say this perfecto was a treat.   If you have a Diamond Crown lounge near you pick one up!

Drew Estate today announced the shipment of their seasonal Flying Pig vitola. The lines receiving shipments are Liga Privada No. 9 and T52, Undercrown Maduro, Shade and Sun Grown, and  Kentucky Fire Cured. The Flying Pig vitola is a very popular vitola made famous by Drew Estate featuring a 100mm x 60 ring gauge and signature pigtail cap. The shape is based on a photograph of an 1895 cigar salesman’s size selection case. It is a very difficult shape to make and is limited to only the most skilled buncheros and rolleras at the factory.
