Fratello Cigars has announced a new cigar exclusive to the state of Louisiana: The Pelican. The Pelican be sold at PF Importers, the cigar distribution owned by NBA Hall of Famer and Cigar Aficionado Karl Malone.
The Pelican was conceived in a meeting we at Fratello had with Karl Malone and his team in the Dominican Republic. We were trying to tell the story of how Andullo tobacco and its fermentation technique had so much in common with perique tobacco and The Pelican was born.

The Pelican will be sold in boxes of 10. It comes in just one size, a 5 ½ x 54 robusto with a suggested retail of $10.50 per cigar. The cigar itself is rolled at the La Aurora factory in the Dominican Republic with an initial production of 5,000 cigars. The Pelican is described as a medium to full-body cigar. It is exclusive to the State of Louisiana and can only be purchased thru PF importers.

The blend for The Pelican uses an HVA Ecuadorian wrapper, Nicaraguan Binder and Dominican, Pennsylvania, and Andullo tobacco fillers.
