Cigar News: Crowned Heads Releases Las Calaveras 2020 Details

Today, Crowned Heads released details of their upcoming seventh annual release of their Las Calaveras line: Las Calaveras EL 2020. The line debuted in 2014 as a tribute to those who passed away the previous year and to celebrate life and memories, as opposed to a mournful symbol of sadness and death. Each year the line pays tribute to 4 specific people who passed the previous year with a set of initials on each of four coins on the band.

Cigar News: Crowned Heads Announces Mule Kick LE 2020

The original Mule Kick debuted back in 2012 as a limited extension to the Four Kicks line. It used a higher priming Habano wrapper and a slightly tweaked internal blend. Production was limited to 5,000 sticks. That original Mule Kick blend was be re-released in 2017, and then there were subsequent releases in 2018 and 2019 featuring Connecticut Habano maduro and Ecuador Sumatra wrappers respectively.

Cigar News: Crowned Heads to Distribute ACE Prime

Crowned Heads announced today that they will be distributing cigars for the relatively new company- ACE Prime. ACE Prime made their debut at IPCPR last year with a big splash, lots of lines and sponsorships. Prior to launching their own brand, the company had made cigars for other companies at Tabacalera Pichardo in Esteli, Nicaragua for 12 years.

Cigar News: Crowned Heads Announces Paniolo Especiale 2020 for Hawaii

For the second year in a row, Crowned Heads is partnering with Drew Estate for their annual “Paniolo Especiale” Limited Edition cigar. This is an exclusive to the state of Hawaii. Paniolo Especiale 2020 is rolled at La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate in Esteli, Nicaragua and is a corona gorda measuring 5 3/4 x 46. The blend is similar to last years using a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, Mexican San Andres binder, and filers from Nicaragua, and Dominican Republic, but this year features tobacco from Brazil. The Paniolo Especiale 2020 comes in boxes of 10 and have the same price of $9.80. Production is smaller this year at 5,000 cigars compared to 4,000 in 2019.

Our list is a bit different from some other lists, it is not simply a rehashing of our top scores from the year, or one person’s opinion. We gave each of our panelists 10 votes to cast how they please for what they enjoyed the most in 2019. The order of their votes matter, so their #1 pick is worth twice as much as #10.
