Blind Cigar Review: Fleur De La Reine | Natural Cinq

“This was a pleasant smoking experience. I was pleasantly surprised by this cigar and enjoyed the variations and progression of flavors yet the foundational consistency was also there throughout. I would love to have this with pecan coffee or a nice woodsy bourbon. I like a lot of consistency with variations in my cigars and this did it subtlety but nicely.” -Diana (ArmyRN)

“In the beginning I was quite impressed with this cigar and enjoyed it thoroughly. In fact, I had a hard time putting this cigar down for long. However, it didn’t finish well. My hope is that this was a one off as I would definitely try it again if others had a different experience. I so enjoyed the first two thirds of the cigar so much, that I’m probably scoring this cigar a little high overall. ” -Isaac M. (The Nothing)

“Good smoke. For someone who enjoys milder cigars that aren’t tremendously challenging, this would be a nice cigar. Construction was on point aside from some initial draw concerns.
Flavor wise it wasn’t a big show, but if you like nice flowery cigars, this is definitely one. Probably wouldn’t be bad with coffee on a Sunday morning.” -John I. (John I.)

“This was a not a flavor profile that fit my wheelhouse. Having said that, for someone who likes hazelnut and some black licorice this will be a decent cigar for them. I didn’t like the bitterness of the cigar but it did progress into a tartness that wasn’t distasteful to me. I would have thought the cigar would be stronger than it was given the types of flavors but it remained a medium to full, on the more medium side for me. A decent smoke for a specific palette.” –Diana (ArmyRN)

“Great smoke. Amazing construction which has definitely contributed to the experience. Deep rich leather and nuttiness on bold display here. It’s a flavor profile that I enjoyed a lot although there wasn’t a lot of transitional stuff going on. I’d be happy to smoke these by the truckload, and I’d nub them every time. ” -John I. (John I.)

“Very solid cigar across the board. It won’t change your life or make you feel as if you’d been touched by the hand of God, but it is a well constructed and tasty smoke. It doesn’t require much effort to tease out and identify exotic flavors, or significant transitions, but what is there is very up front, and enjoyable. ” -John I. (John I.)

“It’s hard for me to assign a top rating to any cigar, and I try to reserve the highest mark for something really wondrous. This is about as close to cigar perfection for me as I can imagine. Big bold flavors with a lot of strength. Packs a punch but the potency was never over the top and the overall balance between strength and flavor was really thoroughly impressive. ” -John I. “Man, this was a fun cigar. I have to blame myself for the performance at the beginning, even if it did feel and look ok. Once I gave it the deeper cut, this cigar was awesome. The savory flavors kept me attached the whole way through. There was a lot more complexity in the first third that seemed to tone down through the rest of the cigar; I really wish it just kept going. ” -Isaac M. (The Nothing)

“Pretty solid effort. A really darkly attractive cigar with big rich flavors in the earthy/woody range with some interesting side notes of herbs and spices coming in at a few points. I’d love to stick a box of these in the back of my cabinet and forget about them for a year or two. I’ll bet they really sing with a little age. ” -John I. (John I.)
