Cigar News: Crowned Heads Announces Las Calaveras 2019

Cigar News: Crowned Heads Announces Las Calaveras 2019 Today Crowned Heads announced La Calaveras EL 2019 which marks the sixth version of their annual release. In 2014, Crowned Heads released this line to celebrate those who passed away in the previous year. It is a celebration of their lives, not a mournful symbol of sadness and death.

Cigar News: Crowned Heads Announces Las Calaveras 2019 Normally, the bands have the initials of four people who passed the previous year in the four gold coins. However, this year there is only one pair of initials: CO, for Cano Ozgener (CO), who founded CAO International in 1968.

“When Cano passed on June 9 of last year,” commented Jon Huber, Crowned Heads co-founder,
“the cigar industry lost a true trailblazer and innovator, and I lost a mentor, friend, and
father-figure. He meant so much to us here at Crowned Heads and he touched the lives of far
too many to mention. His legacy lives on not only in the, cigar business, but in the lives of
those whom he came in contact with during his lifetime.”

This year’s version of the blend uses a  a Habano (Oscuro) wrapper for the first time. The rest of the blend uses all Nicaraguan binder and fillers. Las Calaveras EL 2019 comes in three sizes with suggested retail pricefrom $10.50 to $12.95. LC46 (6 x 46) – $10.50, LC5O (5 x 50) – $11.75, LC54 (5 1/2 x 54) – $12.95. There will also be  a 4-cigar sampler which includes one of each vitola and a sampler-exclusive size a 6 1/8″ x 52 Torpedo.

The cigar, like all other Las Calaveras cigars, is rolled at My Father Cigars, S.A., in Esteli, Nicaragua. Production will be 1,700 24-count boxes per vitola and 2,500 samplers. The cigars will ship June 2019.
