Initial Impressions – K3NGZ Royal Prince

Appearance: 90

“This cigar is presented in a box-pressed toro format and is wearing a slightly mottled dark chocolate brown wrapper leaf that is velvety to the touch yet has ample veins. The seams are well hidden but the cap is a bit rough and is lifting just a bit on one edge.” –Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)

Aroma: 90

“The pre-draw is very nice with rich notes of baking spice, pepper, and cedar.” –Alan (Eulogy)

First Third

First Third

Flavor: 91
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium

“The initial puffs on this cigar are pleasantly spicy with abundant allspice and nutmeg in the front with a lingering leather note on the finish. Through the nose the smoke has just the right amount of white pepper spice and is a wonderful enhancement to the flavor profile on my palate.” –Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)

“On the cold draw, I pick up heavy walnut flavors. The few puffs I have taken so far seem very wispy or light, but I am getting quite a bit of smoke output which satisfies me. The flavors I am picking up from this cigar are light peanuts and some wheat. The cigar’s strength and body are both mild so far.” –Mickey T. (irratebass)

Second Third

Second Third

Flavor: 92
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium

“The flavors are the same as the last third but the leather isn’t as prominent allowing more of a baking spice and black cherry profile. There is a perfect amount of pepper with a cedar note in the background.” –Alan (Eulogy)

“The middle portion of this cigar has brought a transition away from the baking spices and moved more heavily into the leather profile that was present in the finishing notes of the first third. After the leather fades the smoke finishes with a creamy oil that leaves my palate slick and just slightly tingling. Through the nose the smoke profile has not changed and remains quite enjoyable.” –Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)

Final Third

Final Third

Flavor: 92
Strength: Medium-Strong
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full

“Bolder notes of char, brown sugar, and leather in a clear medium-bodied format give a chance of pace leading into the final third. Growing stronger in body and strength, flavors continue to develop with the return of earthy notes as this cigar comes to an end.” –John A. (Bostoneo)

“The final portion of this cigar has transitioned yet again, moving away from the leather and becoming earthy and rich with lingering compost and a return of the barnyard profile I experienced in the pre-light aroma. On the finish, the smoke is still quite oily but now has a strengthening of the pepper tingle that is very nice.” –Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)

Overall Impressions – K3NGZ Royal Prince

Draw: 93

“Great open draw with a straight cut. Plenty of smoke output.” –Mickey T. (irratebass)

Burn: 94

“It’s been raining tons here in California and I was worried the humid air would impact the burn performance of this smoke. Thankfully, this was not the case as the cigar performed admirably and burned very evenly and never needed any special attention.” –Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)

Construction: 91

“This was a really nice looking, rustic cigar that performed very well and tasted exquisite. I’m very pleased!” –Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)

Overall Strength: Medium
Overall Body/Complexity: Medium
Experience Overall: 91

“It started with a slightly weird profile with leather and black cherries being the dominant flavors but thankfully the leather became a background note. Once the stone fruit and baking spice took center stage it became fantastic. The draw and smoke output was excellent and this is a cigar I would look forward to trying again.” –Alan (Eulogy)

“Overall this was a good cigar despite it being pretty much one-dimensional. The flavors I did get out of it were walnuts, wheat, and some sweetness. This is a cigar I would smoke again, but would not seek out. This is a cigar you can smoke any time of the day and just not think about.” –Mickey T. (irratebass)

“This sample captured my attention from the first sniff and continued to keep me enthralled as it progressed through each third. The strength gradually increased, easing me into its medium-full finish and leaving me wishing I had another to light as soon as I put down the nub. This is highly recommended to anyone who enjoys a fine cigar with tons of flavor!” –Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)

“Overall, this was an easy smoking & enjoyable cigar with clear transitions of body and complex flavors. While it might not have enough body for some folks, this cigar smoked clean with a mild to medium bodied profile with a lower strength component that pleasantly surprised me. Coupled with a slightly looser draw and phenomenal construction and burn, this makes it an easy recommendation for an everyday type of smoke.” –John A. (Bostoneo)
