Appearance: 94

“Quad-capped with an odd shape, this is a very interesting appearing cigar. The shape appears to be some kind of half-perfecto. The wrapper is farily mottled dark brown, but not quite dark enough to be a .” – (rhetorik)

First Third

Flavor: 91
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full

“At initial light, I get huge volumes of smoke that has a rich dark tobacco core and some unusual (almost Asian-style) spice to it. And there’s some green vegetal undertones here too, like a green pepper or celery flavor. Really interesting start. Flavor profile transitions to black coffee with some mild sweetness. I’m still picking up some vegetal qualities, particularly on the finish.” – (B-daddy)

“This was just a great third. Started off with a strong cocoa flavor with a light sweetness. Almost like a dark chocolate bar, then flips to a creamy toasted vanilla flavor and then back with the cocoa. It was almost like a s’more fresh off the campfire.” – (bigslowrock)

Flavor: 93
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full

“A little more coffee as the nutmeg turns to more of an allspice flavor. The sandalwood gave the tobacco a floral taste for a few puffs, but quickly faded as a bit of white pepper showed up a little over halfway in.” – (shuckins)

“The pepper flavor is still there, but has calmed down to bring it more to the medium strength level. The draw and burn are still great. With the pepper taking a back seat, it allows more of the baking spices to come out accompanied by a few floral notes. This all makes for a very interesting combo. The only word I can think of to describe my thought on this third is darker. Everything is a little more bold and rich. I don’t think this is a Cuban, but I’m definitely getting a little of that roasted pumpkin salty twang that I normally associate with it. This third is turning out to be great. The burn does wander a bit towards the end and I have to use my torch.” – (rhetorik)

Final Third

Flavor: 92
Strength: Medium-Strong
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full

“This third starts to transition to more of your typical fuller cigars. A lot of leather, cocoa, caramel, with light balanced puffs of pepper, wood and raisins.” – (bigslowrock)

“The last third brings back a little spice and a majority of floral notes with a nice subtle creamyness mixed in.” – (volpow61)

Draw: 94

“At first, I thought the draw was too loose but I think that’s what contributed to the huge volumes of smoke this cigar put out throughout the entire burn. As I’m doing more of these reviews, I find that I’m enjoying a draw with very little resistance. It avoids having to work at smoking the cigar.” – (B-daddy)

Burn: 88

“Not the best of burns, but it got the job done without any touch ups.” – (shuckins)

Overall Strength: Medium-Strong
Overall Body/Complexity: Medium-Full
Overall Experience: 91

“I’m a fan. I liked the vitola, the flavors, the draw and burn. I can’t wait to find out what this cigar is. I would definitely buy some. The flavors were unusual. Spicy and creamy, with just enough intensity to keep it interesting. Flavors reminded me a bit of a Namakubi Ecuador that I smoked a few months ago.” – (B-daddy)

“This is just a great cigar. It kept me interested the entire time with all the flavor changes. It also seemed to deliver the best of a full and medium body cigar. I nubbed it and wish that I had another to light up on the spot. This is a box buy for me.” – (bigslowrock)

“Overall I gotta say this was one very enjoyable smoke from start to finish. Usually floral notes are not my thing in a cigar, but I think this smoke did a good job with it. Depending on price I could see myself smoking this again. Would probably be a good morning cigar with coffee.” – (volpow61)

“Although it wasn’t too complex, it was still a fun cigar to smoke.” – (shuckins)

“I would be very interested in trying this in another more standard vitola to see if it improved or was less exciting. I think a longer stick would induce some more interesting flavor changes and I want to see how far this thing can go. On the other hand, I think the odd shape had a lot to do with the spiciness and strength. Overall, I enjoyed it very much and would definitely recommend giving it a try. It kept me interested with it’s changes and the profile was for the most part balanced and tasty.” – (rhetorik)
