Initial Impressions – Ferio Tego Timeless Panamericana Epicure

Appearance: 94

“This 5”x50 rg, triple-capped, open-footed, cigar sports a medium brown, auburn-hued, slightly oily wrapper. The cigar is firm throughout, with no bumps, soft spots, or visible flaws.
The foot reveals copious amounts of rich-looking tobacco.” – (randobush)

Aroma: 93

“The wrapper has your standard musty hey smell and sweet tobacco smells. On the foot I'm picking up primarily sweet tobacco with hints of vanilla. Very pleasant smells.” – (Angel)

First Third
– Blind Cigar Review

First Third

Flavor: 94
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full

“The first thing I notice is that the draw is perfect, and mouthfuls of satisfying smoke are easily acquired. There is a lot going on, flavor-wise. Rich black coffee, raisins, leather, and oak. Smoked paprika sits on the tongue, providing a med-long finish. The retrohale is very nice adding a maple nougat spice to the bouquet. The burn is razor sharp, and the ash continues into the second third.” – (randobush)

“This cigar starts quite bold, with black pepper and cayenne spiced cedar out front. A creamy caramel balances out the mouthfeel, but the retrohale is spicy. The spice profile does smooth out to a moderate level by the half-inch, allowing a soft earth note to come through in the mouth, with cocoa on the retrohale. Caramel is mostly replaced by marshmallow around an inch, though it pops back into the finish on occasion.” – (Chris)

Second Third
– Blind Cigar Review

Second Third

Flavor: 94
Strength: Medium-Strong
Body/Complexity: Medium

“Going into the second third, the black pepper still remains with the same characteristics as the first third whereas the pepper flavor leaves quickly but the tingle sticks around. As for the sweet tobacco, I feel like that's dropped to the background and there's more of a pronounced leathery, and cedar flavor jumping in. Also, the green pepper has disappeared. The smoke characteristics remain the same with medium creaminess and cool temperature. There's definitely a nicotine buzz kicking in in the second third. This cigar still remains very good and interesting.” – (Angel)

“The complexity mellowed smoothly into the second third with a considerable uptick in the creaminess of the mouthfeel which built and lingered on the palate. The flavors became woody and earthy with hints of a cashew nuttiness that homogenized in a peculiar but pleasant way. The retro matured from grass and hay to rich sourdough bread. Charred oak continued to ebb and flow for much of the second third before making a permanent exit towards the end. Cashews and bread collaborated in a rich creaminess to end the second third. The burn remained flawless which made for a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable experience. At this point the strength continued its ascent from medium to medium-strong and I'll even venture to say borderline strong.” – (Noah)

Final Third
– Blind Cigar Review

Final Third

Flavor: 93
Strength: Medium-Strong
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full

“Although the creamy mouthfeel remained, all complexity nearly flatlined upon entering the final third. The richness of cashews and bread quickly vanished and was replaced by mineral-rich earth and tobacco. Unlike the first two-thirds of this cigar which showcased smooth transitions, this transition between starkly contrasting flavors was rudely abrupt and off-putting. The sourdough on the retro became more reminiscent of sharp rye which I also did not care for. The burn remained perfect and I could have smoked this one until my fingers burned had the flavors been more in line with my taste. I consider myself to have a very high tolerance for nicotine but the strength of this cigar towards the end of the final third was almost too much for me.” – (Noah)

“In the final third the sweet tobacco and pepper have taken a backseat and although they still remain the cigars in my opinion have transitioned into a very citrus-flavored cigar with the green pepper kicking back in although the green pepper is definitely taking a backseat to the citrus flavors. I can't necessarily nail one citrus flavor over another almost a mixture of lime and lemon. Everything else, in general, remains the same the smoke output the creaminess, and the temperature.” – (Angel)

Overall Impressions – Ferio Tego Timeless Panamericana Epicure

Draw: 98

“The draw was fairly snug but not bad. My personal preference is a little looser, but that being said all in all a very good draw.” – (Angel)

Burn: 98

“Nice even burn from beginning to end with a grey-white ash.” – (fullermaine)

Construction: 95

“This cigar was constructed beautifully. Absolutely zero issues.” – (randobush)

Overall Strength: Medium-Strong
Overall Body/Complexity: Medium-Full
Experience Overall: 94

“The general consensus on this cigar is astoundingly good as it checked off almost all of boxes. The construction, burn, and draw were all perfect which made for an ideal smoking experience as I did not have to babysit or put any effort into smoking. The cigar absolutely shined throughout the first two-thirds with a cadence of flavors I've yet to experience together and was not only unique but most of all quite enjoyable. Had the final third not offered such an abrupt change in flavors I would have smoked this cigar down to a nub. Once its identity is revealed I will absolutely seek it out for another round. Should the ending be rewritten I could even see this cigar being a regular in my humidor.” – (Noah)

“This was an enjoyable medium-bodied smoke, and it performed quite well to the nub. I kept hoping that the body would pick back up to the initial blast of the light, but the flavor progression made up for the dip to medium. I'd happily smoke one again. It would make a nice, heavy morning or solid midday smoke in my opinion.” – (Chris)

“Smoking a cigar was almost like smoking three different cigars through the first third, the second and third, and finally, the final third. The transitions are noticeable, with very distinct and profound flavors in the first third, it seem to blend together during the second third, thereby minimizing the profoundness of each flavor. The final third lacked the richness of the first two thirds and was replaced by lighter flavors, and a whimsical texture.” – (randobush)

“A nice morning smoke to get the day started. Great combo of notes in this cigar. Notes of sweet tea, coffee, maple, walnut, and licorice. A cigar I'd want in my humidor and a few sticks to share with friends.” – (fullermaine)

“Overall, this was an excellent cigar with very interesting flavor transitions throughout. For me, it definitely packed a nicotine punch, so I would say you definitely want to have something in your stomach before you tackle this one. All in all, an excellent cigar, and I would definitely smoke this again and recommend it to friends and family, but not necessarily to someone new to cigars. I feel the cigar would pair excellently with a Hazy IPA or pale ale. With as cool as the smoke stayed, you could definitely take this down to a tiny nub and would enjoy every bit of it.” – (Angel)
