Cigar Info

Aganorsa Leaf brought a new line to TPE 2020, Supreme Leaf. The blend features tobacco grown 100% from Aganorsa farms and packaging has a look that is unique to the company. The blend uses a lot of Corojo 99 which is the only specifics given about the internals. It is a Nicaraguan puro and comes in boxes of 10. Supreme Leaf came in one vitola and launch, a 5 x 52 robusto and had a very small run of only 500 boxes. The Supreme Leaf made #15 on our Top 25 Cigars of 2020.

This cigar was reviewed blind (no bands) by a panel of at least 4 reviewers. They did not know what they were smoking beforehand. The scores are an average of all the reviewers' scores with outliers removed. All of our cigars reviewed are shipped to the panelists with Boveda packs to ensure optimal smoking experience.

Since then there has also been a Toro released with 1000 boxes made, and a Corona Gorda announced for early 2021 with 1,500 boxes made. Pricing is set at $9.95 a cigar. The vibrant colors of the packaging and bands are meant to convey the passion and enthusiasm that created the brand, and are quite a different look for the portfolio.

Initial Impressions

Appearance: 92

“Coming in all boxed pressed and pretty, this 6”x 52-54rg has a light to medium brown wrapper, a beauty of a triple cap, and an open foot, although the wrapper does barely, just barely, comes around the edges of the foot. The pack appears firm and solid with minimal veins and nearly invisible seams. The tobacco at the foot has an attractive dark brown/rich appearance. “-Randy B. (randobush)

“Aroma is very interesting and very loud. Lots of smells in there very complex, earth aged tobacco floral sweetness. There is a fruity smell from the foot.” –Ryan H. (Ryan H.)

First Third

Flavor: 93
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full

“The first couple of puffs give me nutty nougat, baking spices, leather, and a bit of salt. The retrohale is fantastic with just the right amount of spice & sweetness, & a hint of expresso. The finish is a nice medium. Smoke output and mouthfeel excellent. The draw is excellent!” –Randy B. (randobush)

“Pepper, slight nuttiness, black tea, leather, a touch of sweetness” –Joseph S. (Bearded Bastard)

“The best word for the cigar at this point is heavy. It is a very full-bodied and spicy blend. The most prominent flavors are a wide variety of pepper. There are times I’m debating between if it’s black, red, or white but I think it’s a bit of everything. In the background I occasionally pick up a lead like mineral flavor along with the earth notes from the beginning. ” –Lauren S. (Lauren S.)

“Nice slow and steady burn producing a good looking grey/white ash, and flavors do not disappoint. Still has that delicious nougat, baking spice salty creaminess on the front end, and espresso, cinnamon, sweet paprika, fine black pepper now on the back end that rest on the tongue until the next puff. Strength is increasing. I’m digging it.” –Randy B. (randobush)

Final Third

Flavor: 93
Strength: Medium-Strong
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full

“Cigar ends with aged tobacco and some of the spice that is left. Burn and draw were amazing.” –Ryan H. (Ryan H.)

“All of the flavors have meshed together to become a super solid smoke.  The nougat has dissipated, for the most part, taking away some of the soft creaminess experienced earlier. Cedar has entered in the final third and blends nicely with the expresso, baking spice, and what is now a nice white pepper zing. This cigar finishes up full-body, full strength in the final third.” –Randy B. Overall Impressions

Draw: 97

“Nice smooth draw” –Joseph S. (Bearded Bastard)

Burn: 93

“Burn was a bit uneven at times especially at the start but I find that common with a closed foot. It required a couple of touch ups but nothing overly egregious. ” –Lauren S. (Lauren S.)

Construction: 94

“This cigar is well put together, maximizing the smoking experience. ” –Randy B. (randobush)

“I absolutely adored this blend and I am anxiously awaiting to find out what it was so I can stock up. This is a very heavy spicy cigar that is full of both strength and flavor. The pepper was the superstar of the cigar so if you enjoy spice this is absolutely a stick you have to try. In the background, there were other supporting notes of earth, leather, mineral, and nutty flavors to help round the blend out. I ended up smoking this down to the nub until I just could not hold it anymore.” –Lauren S. (Lauren S.)

“A very good solid smoke loved the peppery heat that was just right and not overpowering. Strength was good, overall, a great cigar.” –Joseph S. (Bearded Bastard)

“Was a very relaxing enjoyable time with this cigar ” –Ryan H. (Ryan H.)

“This cigar was a treat to review. Very satisfying from start to finish. There was an abundance of flavors & noticeable transitions that just kept coming. The gradual increase in strength was nothing short of enjoyable and fun. Looking forward to finding out what I just reviewed. Cheers!” –Randy B. (randobush)
