Today, Altadis U.S.A. and AJ Fernandez announced another collaboration, the Romeo San Andrés by Romeo y Julieta. The cigar is made in Estelí, Nicaragua at Tabacalera AJ Fernandez. The blend uses an aged San Andrés wrapper, one of the more popular wrappers today.
AJ Fernandez worked with Rafael Nodal, founder of Aging Room Small Batch Cigars and present Head of Product Capability for Tabacalera USA, to pick only the finest San Andrés wrappers available. This wrapper has been extensively aged and wrapped over a Nicaraguan binder, and a robust filler blend, consisting of Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos.
Romeo San Andrés is said to be medium to full in body. It is priced at $9 – $10 MSRP per single cigar, and comes in boxes of 20, and available in four sizes: Robusto (50 x 5), Toro (54 x 6), Pirámides (52 x 6 1/8), and Short Magnum (60 x 5 ½). Full distribution will take place in March 2018.
