JR Cigar has announced a new exclusive cigar made by Altadis U.S.A., Romeo y Julieta Devoción. Devoción translated to “devotion” in Spanish and stands for the company’s devotion to their employees and customers.

Altadis U.S.A. is celebrating Romeo y Julieta’s 145 years of cigars by releasing a new limited-edition cigar: Romeo y Julieta Eternal. The blend is made by the Plasencia family in collaboration with Rafael Nodal, Head of Product Development at Tabacalera USA.

Today, Altadis U.S.A. and AJ Fernandez announced another collaboration, the Romeo San Andrés by Romeo y Julieta. The cigar is made in Estelí, Nicaragua at Tabacalera AJ Fernandez. The blend uses an aged San Andrés wrapper, one of the more popular wrappers today.

Whiskey Barrel Coffee reached out to us to see if we would assist them in evaluating how their coffee pairs with cigars. I was very intrigued as whiskey and cigars are a fairly common pairing and coffee and cigars are another typical pairing. I was interested to see how this product that combined both of those drink aspects would pair with cigars.

“I don’t normally smoke much in the way of “big” cigars. Anything that takes longer than about 90 minutes to smoke usually wont keep my attention. This cigar did a pretty good job of keeping me interested though and was nice to smoke. I don’t know if its close enough to my normal “likes” for me to run out and make a purchase on, but I would certainly re-visit it down the road and give it another shot.” -Dave (mdwest)
