Cigar News: Altadis U.S.A. Announces H. Upmann 1844 Classic

Altadis U.S.A. has announced a new H. Upmann that will be first shown at Tobacco Plus Expo (TPE) in Las Vegas May 12 – 14: H. Upmann 1844 Classic. The company describes this as a “next-level shade,” meaning a medium-bodied cigar with an Ecuadorian Connecticut shade wrapper and Honduran binder/filler.

H. Upmann 1844 Classic is rolled at La Flor de Copan in Honduras under the guidance of Grupo de Maestros. The Classic joins the other H.Upmann’s in the 1844 line including: H. Upmann 1844 Vintage Cameroon, 1844 Reserve, and the 1844 Añejo,

The blend used for the 1844 Classic reflects elevated tradition and the heritage of the H. Upmann brand. This new cigar comes in boxes of 25 that reflect the heritage of the brand and the champagne-colored cigar bands compliment the rest of the H. Upmann 1844 line and make for an attractive humidor presentation. It comes in four vitolas: Corona (44 x 5) – $7.10; Robusto (52 x 5) – $7.40; Toro (54 x 6) – $7.70; and Churchill (50 x 7) – $8.00.

The H. Upmann 1844 heritage line represents over 177 years in cigar expertise. With the introduction of the 1844 Classic, the brand aims to hone its signature identity which is rooted in rich tradition and experienced by today’s enthusiasts through the nuances that each H. Upmann cigar delivers.
