KENTUCKY MEETS THE CARIBBEAN: KENTUCKY-GROWN TOBACCO LINKS USA AND DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
Black Patch Cigar Company Releases Two New Premium Cigar Blends Featuring ‘Kenbano’ Hybrid Tobacco
Lexington, KY, . Black Patch Cigar Company, established in 2000 is a Kentucky, USA based business with manufacturing facilities in Villa Gonzalez, Dominican Republic, is pleased to announce the release of the new Kenbano Oro and Kenbano Platino premium cigars.
Tobacco has been grown in the “Black Patch” region of Kentucky for over 150 years. This area, which is known for its dark, fertile soils, is used by Eric McAnallen of Black Patch Cigar Company to grow a proprietary hybrid tobacco since 2007 Trademarked and Registered as “Kenbano.”
The new cigars are produced by blending exclusive Kenbano leaf with choice Dominican tobaccos to create two exciting new cigar blends: Oro (Gold) and Platino (Platinum).
The new cigar blends were created in 2012 by a panel of testers who, after numerous blind tasting sessions, were delighted with the results. Production began in the summer of 2014 and the completed cigars have been aging for just over a year prior to shipment.
The two blends use the same tobaccos with adjustments made to the filler blends to create cigars with different body and strength levels. The Oro is the stronger of the two blends, which results from using filler tobacco from the 3-4-5 primings (i.e., higher on the plant) than the Platino, which has more filler from 2-3-4 primings (i.e., lower on the plant). These subtle modifications change the overall essence and are noted especially over the tongue and on the retrohale.
According to McAnallen, “We never compromise the integrity of the leaf while properly overseeing the aging process of the tobaccos. Simply put. Our tobaccos are proficiently aged for your enjoyment.”
Kenbano Oro and Kenbano Platino come packed in boxes (or bundles) of 20 cigars. For more information and to purchase cigars, visit http://blackpatchcigar.com/
