Cigar News: Cigar Dojo and Cubariqueño Collaborate on “Protocol Taser”

2018 was the first time Cigar Dojo and Cubariqueño Cigar Co. collaborated on a cigar, “Protocol K9.” The next year the duo released “Protocol Night Stick.” And now, in 2021, we get the “Protocol Taser.” The idea of all their collaborations has been instruments of law enforcement, now including the tactical taser. It is a valuable asset to many law enforcement agencies as a non-lethal way to incapacitate perpetrators.

I have been a member of the Cigar Dojo community from early on. My love for Cigar Dojo has grown with every passing year. The Taser is our third collaboration with them and it is a dream come true. It is PHENOMENAL what we have accomplished together. The best is yet to come!

Juan Cancel, co-founder of Cubariqueño Cigar Co.

The blend for Protocol Taser starts with a Nicaraguan Habano Cafe wrapper, Nicaraguan Habano binder, and Nicaragua (Estelí and Ometepe viso) and U.S. (Pennsylvania ligero) fillers. The are rolled at Erik Espinosa’s La Zona in Estelí, Nicaragua. Sticking with the same theme, the packaging for Taser appears like a standard-issue taser and the cigars themselves have a “double rabito” head which looks like the two electrodes of a taser weapon. The cigars are a 5″ x 52 robusto vitola. Each bundle will cost $89.95.

When the Dojo and Protocol collaborate, it’s electric! The Taser has a shocking and unique blend that is the perfect follow up to the Night Stick and K9.

Eric Guttormson, owner of Cigar Dojo.

Like like the first two releases, Protocol Taser will be launched with an in-person event, featuring Juan Cancel of Protocol Cigars and Master Sensei and the Cigar Dojo team. Protocol Taser will launch exclusively at retailer Smoke Inn Cigars on March 26th at 12pm (EDT) for Cigar Dojo members. Remaining cigars will be available to the public at 12:30pm (EDT). Five hundred 10-count bundles were made for this release with a select number being reserved for the release party, which will be held at Smoke Inn’s Boynton Beach headquarters later that night.

Protocol K9 and Protocol Night Stick both sold out the same day, so expect the same with the Protocol Taser.
