Cigar News: Royal Agio Adding Two Lines to San Pedro de Macorís

Cigar News: Royal Agio Adding Two Lines to San Pedro de Macorís Royal Agio cigars announced today the addition of two new lines to the San Pedro de Macorís brand: Nicaragua and Sun Grown. San Pedro de Macorís is a value based line with prices in the $5 range. These new lines will be shown off at the 2019 TPE (Tobacco Products Expo).

The original two lines, Ecuador and Brazil, were released at the 2018 IPCPR show. The brand is named after San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic, the location of Royal Agio’s handmade cigar factory. The blend uses a high quality wrapper and binder with original Cuban seed Piloto Ligero filler.

From the Royal Agio handmade factory in the Dominican Republic, Francisco Batista, Premium Cigar Master Blender, stated, “Like the blend releases last year, the San Pedro de Macorís Nicaragua and Sun Grown blends continue to directly reflect the local way of life in this small town, delivering extraordinary enjoyment for the money. Everything here is about creating the best everyday experiences possible, no matter what the occasion, and I proudly speak for the entire factory family when I tell you that these new blends will surprise you!”

The San Pedro de Macorís Nicaragua blend uses a Nicaraguan Habano wrapper and the San Pedro de Macorís Sun Grown uses a sun-grown Ecuador Habano wrapper. Both offer a medium bodied smoking experience.  All San Pedro de Macorís blends come in 20-count boxes and three vitolas – Perla 4 1/8 x 40 (MSRP $4.75), Corona 5 7/8 x 42 (MSRP $5.00) and Robusto 5 1/8 x 52 (MSRP $5.50). These new blends will ship to U.S. retailers in early April, 2019.
