Initial Impressions – Lampert 1675 Edición AZUL Robusto

Appearance: 91

“Robusto with a dark brown wrapper that is reminiscent of a Snicker’s bar. It’s very smooth to the touch. I detect seams through touch, but no visible ones.” –Mickey T. (irratebass)

Aroma: 96

“With a cold draw, I am left with a wonderful array of cinnamon, leather, and a bit of earthiness for some depth. On the nose, freshly baked bread and hearty tobacco entice me to light up this cigar immediately.” –John A. (Bostoneo)

Flavor: 91
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium

“The draw and smoke output are both fantastic right out of the gate. There is a lot of sweetness and rich notes of tobacco that dominates the palate with nice baking spice and mild pepper finish.” –Alan (Eulogy)

“On the cold draw, I pick up mustiness along with more walnuts. Getting hints of coffee, wood, and a bit of marshmallow, but just slightly. It has more of an earthy taste… definitely some leather in here as well.” –Mickey T. (irratebass)

Second Third

Flavor: 91
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium

“Round two begins with a great medium-bodied profile of leather, graphite, pleasant mildly sweet black pepperiness with a floral finish that entices me to continue smoking. This fairly straightforward profile continues through this third, which is very tasty!” –John A. (Bostoneo)

“Light in the first third is an understatement for sure. The profile is relatively the same but some cinnamon is trying to join which would be good adding a little complexity to this story. Pepper and cream still playing nicely.” –Ryan H. (Ryan H.)

Final Third

Flavor: 91
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full

“The level of sweetness has dropped off almost entirely with a dominant cedar note taking over. Rich notes of tobacco are still well represented with more baking spice and red pepper on the finish. Most of the notes aren’t new but the shifting of the intensity makes it feel fresh.” –Alan (Eulogy)

“More earth and leather (not complaining mind you) with walnuts every now and then I get some dark roast coffee notes.” –Mickey T. (irratebass)

Overall Impressions – Lampert 1675 Edición AZUL Robusto

Draw: 98

“Wonderful is the only word you can choose to describe it.” –Ryan H. (Ryan H.)

Burn: 96

“Burn was excellent. No touch-ups were required, and I was smoking in my car while the boy was at soccer practice in 20-degree weather.” –Mickey T. (irratebass)

Construction: 95

“Looked like a classic robusto with a firm body pre-light. There isn’t a lot to nitpick here. The wrapper was unblemished, the seams were drum-tight, and the cap was a large double cap.” –Alan (Eulogy)

Overall Strength: Medium
Overall Body/Complexity: Medium
Experience Overall: 94

“I would smoke this all day. The versatility of flavors and strength make this good for a morning or nighttime smoke. It burns a little fast for the size but the flavors and smoke output more than make up for it. Highly recommend this and I will be picking up more of these.” –Alan (Eulogy)

“Box worthy for sure.” –Ryan H. (Ryan H.)

“Overall this cigar had everything going for it. There was plenty of smoke output. Lots of leather, wood, coffee, and walnut notes. It was NOT a one-trick pony, this was a very balanced cigar that held my attention from first light to last puff. I would say this is a box purchase for me for sure, and the size was perfect.” –Mickey T. (irratebass)

“They don’t come around often, but this was one of the better medium-profiled cigars I’ve had recently. Smooth-bodied notes of chocolate, leather, pepper, spice, and floral notes gave me extreme flavor enjoyment for slightly over an hour! Paired with impeccable construction, burn, and draw, this is a no-brainer favorite for 2022. Grab some and try for yourself, you won’t regret it!” –John A. (Bostoneo)
