The Joya de Nicaragua Número Uno was originally only given out to world leaders by Nicaraguan ambassadors on official missions. In 2018 it was turned into an even-only cigar, then in was released to the public as a limited edition in 2019. Finally, in 2021 it was released as an annual cigar with more sizes being added in the time following.

Joya de Nicaragua's Número Uno was originally given handed out to world leaders by Nicaraguan ambassadors on official missions. The original release was L’Ambassadeur, a 6 5/8 x 44 Lancero, then the next year they added Le Premier a 6 7/8 x 48 Churchill. Now the company is adding Número Uno L'Attaché, a 5 1/2 x 42 Corona exclusively for Club de Amigos, Joya de Nicaragua’s top retailers. Número Uno is part of Joya de Nicaragua’s Obras Maestras line.
