Initial Impressions
Appearance: 92
“This cigar is about 4 inches long and has a milk chocolate colored wrapper. Torpedo shaped and almost looks like a NUB. The surface is quite bumpy and the veins are very prominent. No major blemishes are present.” –Sandeep (Djangos)
Aroma: 88
“Mostly nutmeg, faint cedar and light cocoa aromas.” –Ron (shuckins)
First Third
Flavor: 88
Strength: Mild-Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium
“An earthy tasting tobacco that has a sweetness to it at the beginning. A warm tasting allspice shows up soon after to round things out and add another dimension to the cigar.” –Ron (shuckins)
“There are some really good flavors with the first puffs. So far, I’m getting leather, cedar and some really nice baking spices. These flavors continue to develop and balance out throughout the rest of the third. I really enjoyed this third.” –Emmett (rhetorik)
Second Third
Flavor: 88
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Light-Medium
“Loose draw continues. The ash has held on nicely. Still mostly earthy with just a hint of spice. The cigar has been drying my mouth out a lot, so I have had to keep drinking to survive the cigar.” –Wes (SosaCub4Life)
In the second third, the tobacco, walnut and wood flavors are still present. Had a floral bouquet flavor come in shortly after getting into this third, but it was very mild, and disappeared after a couple puffs. Mid way in, a tiny bit of spice showed up, but again only lasted for a few puffs.” –Robert (NavyPiper)
Final Third
Flavor: 88
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium
“A little sweetness joins the mix and blends well with the sage and earthy flavored tobacco. The cigar stayed smooth tasting until the very end when a touch of pepper joined the allspice and helped the cigar end with a friendly kick.” –Ron (shuckins)
“After slowing down a little and burning past the crack, things have gotten back to excellent. The flavors have balanced out and the cedar has come back. The strength has actually died down a bit. The cigar finishes out without much change, but remains delicious. I really enjoyed this third and the cigar.” –Emmett (rhetorik)
Overall Impressions
Draw: 90
“Draw was good. A tiny bit snug for me, but not enough to justify clipping the head a skosh more, or reaming it.” –Robert (NavyPiper)
Burn: 91
“Cigar burned very well. No corrections needed.” –Wes (SosaCub4Life)
Construction: 89
“The construction left something to be desired, but hopefully some of the other samples had fewer issues and mine were more isolated. I have a feeling this was Cameroon wrapper, which can be tricky.” –Emmett (rhetorik)
Overall Strength: Medium
Overall Body/Complexity: Medium
Overall Experience: 88
“A very smooth, tasty cigar that has me anxious to find out what it was because I want another one.” –Ron (shuckins)
“Overall, the experience was not very good because there was not much flavor to speak of. The only flavor was a mild hay and some cardboard like flavor. There was not much pepper or any other spices as well. This was compounded with wrapper issues and very weak smoke production. Definitely not one to try again.” –Sandeep (Djangos)
“Overall, this cigar just didn’t do it for me. Even with taking out the very loose draw, it was extremely mild and dry. There was a bit of spice at the start, but overall it was very subpar for me and I’d have no interest in smoking this again.” –Wes (SosaCub4Life)
“I really enjoyed this cigar, the flavors were fantastic and had lots of transitions. I wish the construction had been better and the wrapper hadn’t had burn and split problems, but hopefully those were isolated. If the others had better construction, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a five pack or box of these. Highly recommend.” –Emmett (rhetorik)
“It was a good stogie, but it seemed like it didn’t know where to go flavor wise at times, as it would surprise me with a new flavor, but yanked it back about as fast as it arrived, which was rather frustrating. But the basic flavors just weren’t all that enjoyable for me tonight, don’t know why it just wasn’t.” –Robert (NavyPiper)
