CAO have announced a new limited edition release that will be a part of the brand's virtual tour of the Pan American Highway. The new limited release is called Zócalo, also the name of a city square in Mexico, this is first CAO cigar made with tobacco from Mexico.
Rick Rodriguez, CAO Master Blender, said about the new release, “Zócalo speaks to CAO's spirit of going off the beaten path. We've never used Mexican tobacco in any of our blends, so we went bold by using a Mexican wrapper leaf. It's a special Morron wrapper grown in the San Andrés Valley and it delivers a great, earthy flavor I know the CAO fans will love.”
The Zócalo uses a Cameroon binder and all Nicaraguan leaves in the filler. The cigar was blended to deliver earthiness, spice, and subtle sweetness. Zócalo is only available in a single vitola, that being a 6 x 60. MSRP for the Zócalo will be $8.49/cigar, and the Zócalo will come packaged in 20-count boxes, with a full box MSRP of $169.80. Production is limited to only 3,500 boxes, and the Zócalo will be available in cigar shops in time for Cinco de Mayo on May 5.
