Blind Cigar Review: Vallorani | Trump 2020 Churchill Initial Impressions

Appearance: 93

“This oily, box-pressed, cigar is eye-catching. Walnut in color, smooth to the touch, sporting a bunch of medium size veins and a triple cap. It is firm in the hand but has loose seams throughout. This is the only negative that can be found when looking over this cigar.” – (TheRealBanzi)

Aroma: 90

“This cigar has a nice pre-light aroma at the foot of barnyard, clove, & baking spices.” – (randobush)

First Third

Flavor: 91
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full

“Lighting this cigar you are met with a bunch of dark flavors. Early on it is fresh roasted coffee, cacao, and nutmeg. The nutmeg causes a tingling sensation in the sinuses. Half way through it shifts gears and anise comes to the forefront pushing the dark flavors into the background. The third closes with a vegetal note that presents as baby carrots. An interesting start to this smoke.” – (TheRealBanzi)

“Upon lighting 1010 all floral hand soap notes went away & I began to get notes of dry baking coco powder with chewy dried & hints of thick leather. These notes stayed throughout the whole 1st third, with an ash that opened like a flower with the morning sun.” – (The Yoga Ash)

Second Third

Blind Cigar Review: |

Flavor: 90
Strength: Mild-Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full

“Going into the 2nd third, the finish is medium, staying on the palate just long enough until the next puff. Creamy, baking spices, and savory like beef broth, sum up the flavor profile in the 2nd third.
Very light sweet cayenne pepper flavor & espresso, show up in this 3rd, as well. Good stuff so far!” – (randobush)

“Creamy decadent chocolate becomes the focus early on. We have lost all of the coffee notes until midway through the third. It returns as a bitter espresso complementing the chocolate. I’m finding the finish to be real short causing me to smoke faster then I want.” – (TheRealBanzi)

Final Third

Flavor: 91
Strength: Medium-Strong
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full

“Rich, rich , rich, that is the word that I keep coming back to. The smoke just covered your pallet like a blanket. The spice picked back up from the first third and the dark chocolate continued all the way to the end. I would also say a nice dark roast coffee was in the final third.” – ()

“Notably, the ash is finally holding together & the 2nd third notes have gone away. Now, there is an all over spiciness throughout the whole mouth with cracked wood, mineral & a Himalayan salt on the very tale end.” – (The Yoga Ash)

Overall Impressions

Draw: 89

“It was a very open draw. Not a major problem but This might have been a underlined reason for it smoking faster then I would have expected.” – (TheRealBanzi)

Burn: 91

“It was clean and straight for the majority of the time. There was a moment in the second third that it was uneven but it fixed itself with no touch ups needed.” – (TheRealBanzi)

Construction: 91

“Construction was excellent making for a beautifully performing cigar. Ash fell in 1.5” chunks.” – (randobush)

Overall Strength: Medium
Overall Body/Complexity: Medium-Full
Experience Overall: 90

“Had to plug the holes up by the band as if I were playing a flute, flavor was ok, nothing too spectacular for me, over all, an OK smoke.” – (Bearded Bastard)

“I found myself thinking about a very popular Nicaraguan brand as I smoked this. The only problem was I found myself wanting more. The flavors were great but with such a short finish I found myself going back for another puff sooner then I wanted to. While I can’t take to much away from cigar I think it could have been so much better, just my opinion. It did pair very well with the iced coffee. So I can see it easily being a great cigar for someone how wants a darker cigar with their coffee in the A.M. Grab a few and give it a try.” – (TheRealBanzi)

“This to me was just a fantastic smoke. Super rich and chewy all the way to the end. The musty tobacco aroma played nice with the beginning flavors from the cigar. It just felt right in your hand. The roasted flavors mixed with the chocolate and molasses was amazing.” – ()

“I really would have like to have some of the floral notes from the wrapper come through in the smoking of this cigar. The 2nd third was quite a failure between tasting notes & relights. The last 3rd & the aroma of the wrapper by its self is were it was at.” – (The Yoga Ash)

“Holiday family time left me with only getting in one cigar today, and this one was it. No harm, no foul, as this cigar was a treat from start to the nub. Flavors were profound and easy to detect, and transitions were subtle, but very noticeable, and right on time! I’m anxious to discover what I just smoked!” – (randobush)
