Favilli (formerly Mombacho) has announced the release of “The Granada Line” in the U.S. This line includes three blends: Tierra, Isletas, and Lava. The line launched in Canada earlier this month. The newly created line includes Tierra, which is a rebranded version of the company’s Tierra Volcan that has been in the U.S. market since 2014. There will be a total of 9 cigars in the new collection, with each of the three wrapper variations getting three sizes options.
The new line will hit shelves in the U.S. by the end of June. The first available will be a limited version of the packaging offered called “Forever Boxes” that contain 20 cigars and use a magnetic seal. Standard packaging will be available this summer, as well as 10 count environmentally conscious boxes named “Enviro-Lux,” which share the same feel and design.
As a part of this release, Favilli is also introducing a new cigar profile classification system for their products. The dot system ranges from one to three dots and classifies a marks complete experience, including and not limited to body, profile, and strength which the company says allows an easy avenue of selection outside of traditional “mild, medium, full” or numbering systems.
The Granada Line is not just new blend under one person or one person’s vision, it’s a collaborative effort with my team for the vision of Favilli. The team’s contribution to the vision forward is in our commitment to create the most memorable experience for our clients and markets, celebrating the uniqueness of Granada and our countries beautiful elements.
Indiana Ortez, Director of Operations
Tierra is the rebranding of the Tierra Volcan line, and the company says center of the core line. This is also the oldest cigar for the company. This blend gets the company’s two-dot classification and is a Nicaraguan puro. This new blend pays homage to the volcanic soil of Nicaragua and the company’s former expressions of the blend.
Isletas get a one-dot classification and is their Connecticut Shade offering. This is a totally new blend and also the first Connecticut shade cigar for Favilli. The blend includes tobaccos from three countries and is designed to provide a clean and crisp smoke with a flavorful profile. The name and blend symbolize Granada‘s famed islands created by a volcanic eruption, where locals and tourists alike visit for a bright experience in Central Americas biggest lake, Lake Nicaragua.
Lava is rated three-dots by their new system, making this the strongest of the line. The blend uses a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper and a total of three countries contribute to the blend. This full-bodied cigar is meant to pair with a variety of food and beverages. The profound flavor mix symbolizes the beauty of flowing magma, which mesmerizes by its powerful, yet smooth flow, which helped birth the Volcanic Soil of Nicaragua.
