JRE Tobacco Co. has been strategically rolling out new blends, often releasing them in a single size. Last summer saw the debut of the Aladino Candela, initially in one size but later expanding to two more vitolas. More recently, the Aladino Limited Edition and Sumatra were introduced in a 6 x 52 toro vitola. In March 2024, JRE started shipping the Aladino Fuma Noche in a single 6 1/4 x 54 toro extra vitola, and the new Aladino Cameroon Reserva is expected soon, also in a single 6 x 52 vitola. Which brings us to the JRE Aladino Fuma Noche.

Initial Impressions – JRE Aladino Fuma Noche
Appearance: 94
“This cigar is presented in a toro format and is wearing a dark maduro wrapper that is very smooth and silky to the touch. The seams are invisible on this sample and the cap appears to be a triple cap and is very nicely applied.” –Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)
Aroma: 94
“As for aroma, on the wrapper, I get a bit of musty hay, vanilla, and a subtle amount of cinnamon. On the foot, I get a strong sense of sweet tobacco and a little bit of black pepper.” –Angel M. (Angel)
First Third
Flavor: 88
Strength: Mild-Medium
Body/Complexity: Light-Medium
“The initial flavors of this cigar are extremely light. At this point, I’m getting absolutely zero spice or depth of flavor mainly just clean tobacco and smoke.” –Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)
“Honey is the immediate hit after light up. This is quickly followed by an orange, with peel, and a rustic bread note. There is a floral cedar on the finish. About an inch in, a very light pepper tingle joins the finish.” –Chris M. (Chris)
Second Third
Flavor: 91
Strength: Mild-Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium
“Going into the second third, the pepper has mellowed out significantly, making room for the leather to take the forefront and also making the flavors of oak stronger followed now by a coffee bean flavor. The smoke is still a bit dry but enjoyable and the temperature is still a bit warm.” –Angel M. (Angel)
“Honestly, this cigar is growing on me. It is very mild but the flavors are crisp with notes of sweet cream, baking spice, cedar, and tobacco. At first, I was hoping for more of a flavor bomb in the evening hours but this is such a rich smoking experience I’m not missing the extra nicotine.” –Alan (Eulogy)
Final Third
Flavor: 95
Strength: Medium-Strong
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full
“In the final third, the pepper has all but disappeared. The leather remains, and oak along with the coffee bean. Also, in the final third, a nice nutty flavor has joined in. The smoke has smoothed out a tad bit, making for a semi-creamy texture but still a little warm and temperature. Full, strong.” –Angel M. (Angel)
“The rustic bread notes and floral cedar hit just slightly above the orange and lemon. Very minimal pepper spice still. The one addition to this section is an herbal tea in the background.” –Chris M. (Chris)
Overall Impressions – JRE Aladino Fuma Noche
Draw: 91
“Slightly snug but didn’t affect the creaminess of the smoke. It could just be my preference though.” –Alan (Eulogy)
Burn: 89
“The burn started off very well. Somewhere around an inch in it started to canoe a bit. After correcting it, I still got plenty of waves, but only one smaller correction was needed.” –Chris M. (Chris)
Construction: 90
“If I’m nitpicking the cap could have been applied better but there is little else to complain about. The seams were perfect, the body was solid to the touch, and the burn was perfect. I would say the draw was a bit but some would find it perfect.” –Alan (Eulogy)
Overall Strength: Medium
Overall Body/Complexity: Medium
Experience Overall: 94
“Overall, this was an excellent cigar. It did start out a little rough and a pepper bomb in the beginning. The transitions from 3rd to 3rd were significant and each third became more enjoyable. I would say this is not for someone new to cigars as it is full-bodied and strong. There is also a nicotine buzz that comes along with the cigar so you definitely want to have something in your stomach. I would definitely add this to my rotation.” –Angel M. (Angel)
“I smoked this on a very nice warm day, and the profile worked very well with the heat. It has bright, well-balanced flavors, is never heavy, and is very low in nicotine strength. It has a very consistent profile and a large cigar. In general I prefer a transitional stick, but if I was chatting at a lounge, or meandering through a barbecue, this would be perfect. I would definitely revisit this one on occasion.” –Chris M. (Chris)
“I really wanted to like this cigar based on the appearance and aroma, but it just didn’t live up to my expectations. The initial flavors were thin and flat, and the finish was practically unsmokeable. The middle portion showed flashes of flavor but unfortunately, it was short-lived. If this wasn’t for a review I would have pitched it early and lit something else. Unfortunately, based on this sample, I cannot recommend this to any of my cigar-smoking friends.” –Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)
“This is a cigar that really grew on me. For an evening smoke, I was hoping for something that had a bit more punch but the flavors were so crisp I fell in love with it. It isn’t something that would stand up to a strong drink late at night but if you really want an amazing cigar with clean flavors this is it.” –Alan (Eulogy)
