Initial Impressions – All Saints St. Francis Colorado Toro

Appearance: 88

“This sample is presented in a box-pressed format and is sitting on a light brown wrapper leaf that feels slick and thin to my touch. The seams are readily visible and there are plenty of prominent veins from cap to foot. There is absolutely no tooth to the wrapper and it actually feels slick enough to drop if not careful.” – (Jokey Smurf)

Aroma: 90

“A cold draw reveals a delicious core of malt, leather and nougat notes. On the nose, wonderful grass, malt, and peppered leather simply delight my senses… I really want to light this up now!” – (Bostoneo)

First Third
– Blind Cigar Review

First Third

Flavor: 92
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Light-Medium

“The initial draw of this cigar is really nice and is giving me light roasted tobacco notes with hints of peat on the finish. The smoke is slightly oily and leaves my palate with a lingering pepper tingle. Through the nose the smoke is just a bit peppery with a slightly musty finish.” – (Jokey Smurf)

“There is a nice amount of spice and mild pepper on the draw. The profile has a nice creamy texture with finishing notes of anise, cedar, and mineral.” – (Eulogy)

Second Third
– Blind Cigar Review

Second Third

Flavor: 90
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium

“I am still getting that tea flavor as well as some black pepper is thrown in. This cigar is pretty creamy with roasted peanuts on the finish.” – (irratebass)

“Moving into the second third, complex notes of damp earth, leather, and a bit of spice that lingers on the tongue hold stead as this cigar smokes rather quickly. As the cigar continues, I notice different lingering flavors of caramel, strong coffee, and a long fish of light pepper on the tongue. This third ends with a nearly full-bodied profile that includes dominant herbal and leather flavors.” – (Bostoneo)

Final Third
– Blind Cigar Review

Final Third

Flavor: 87
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium

“I am enjoying this stick. I am smoking this on the first day of fall and it’s just about perfect right now. I have about two inches left and the baking spice has arrived and mixed with the black pepper quite well. The addition of these two are not affecting the strength.” – (irratebass)

“Medium/full-bodied notes of peppery leather are intense as I burn into the last third. Strength is getting a bit overwhelming for my poor soul as well as both strength and body continue to increase into the land of full body… I’ll probably need a nap soon after. With two inches from the end, I have to put this one down for the count as it is extremely strong!” – (Bostoneo)

Overall Impressions – All Saints St. Francis Colorado Toro

Draw: 88

“It is a little too tight but not a chore. The smoke output did suffer a bit due to this and it lacked a creamy texture.” – (Eulogy)

Burn: 97

“Some slight waviness but it was never out of control and never needed any touch-ups or relights.” – (Eulogy)

Construction: 88

“I was not impressed with the wrapper of this cigar…it just did not feel premium to me. Besides that point, overall construction was pretty good until the final third when the draw locked up… from then on I had to work for smoke which heated things up and changed the flavor in a bad way.” – (Jokey Smurf)”

Overall Strength: Medium
Overall Body/Complexity: Medium
Experience Overall: 88

“This cigar was fantastic! Like I said I smoked this on the first day of fall and it was perfect! I picked up plenty of cream, peanuts, and white and black pepper with some tea for good measure. This is a cigar that could be smoked any time of the day. Pick up a box or even a fiver and judge for yourself.” – (irratebass)

“I enjoyed this but I think it is more of a morning cigar or first cigar of the day. The favors don’t have any progression but stayed interesting from start to finish. I would like to try this again to see if the draw was better.” – (Eulogy)

“This started out as a pretty good, if one-dimensional smoke, but the final third really turned me off. I’d like to try another to see if this is typical of the line but without proof to the contrary I’d hesitate to make a purchase of more than a single stick.” – (Jokey Smurf)

“This cigar was very enjoyable IF you take your time. Because of the looser draw, some cadence is required so it didn’t overheat and throw off flavors into the mix. Overall, the wonderful first and second third with a medium-bodied profile with various leather, earth, and peppery tobacco flavors as well as a myriad of other nuances that showed up. Getting into the last third was a bit difficult for me as this cigar started to turn full body mode and required a bit of constitution to finish. If you’re looking for some delicious excitement with a slap your mama in the face ending, this cigar might be just for you!” – (Bostoneo)
