Cigar Info
Casa de Sueños is a relatively new cigar company that has been around since 2019. The idea started in November of 2018 when a group of guys from The LG Cigar Club got together and decided to take their passion and turn it into a business.
This cigar was reviewed blind (no bands) by a panel of at least 4 reviewers. They did not know what they were smoking beforehand. The scores are an average of all the reviewers' scores with outliers removed. All of our cigars reviewed are shipped to the panelists with Boveda packs to ensure optimal smoking experience.
The Casa de Sueños Fantasia is described as the boldest and fullest body cigar the company makes. The blend uses an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, Dominican San Vincente binder, and Nicaraguan fillers. It comes in three sizes: Short Belicoso 5 x 54, Perfecto 6 1/2 x 54, and Toro Gordo 6 1/2 x 58. MSRP ranges from $15.00 to $19.00 and the cigars come packed in boxes of 20.

Initial Impressions – Casa de Sueños Fantasia Toro Gordo
Appearance: 94
“First impressions of this cigar were great. The wrapper with a slightly oily feel to the touch. It had very uniform milk chocolate brown color to it and just a few noticeable veins.” –Quinn (quinnpins269)
Aroma: 91
“Lots of very complex smells with so much going on here. The first smell identified is dried cherries. I get fermented tobacco and a little warehouse. some but very little barnyard.” –Ryan H. (Ryan H.)
First Third
Flavor: 88
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium
“Dry cedar notes came out swinging at the beginning of this cigar. The aroma reminded me of walking into a lounge’s humidor. The smoke throughout the first third continued to be quite dry with light black pepper coming in at times.” –Quinn (quinnpins269)
“The cigar started off with a nice full body just about the way I like it. There was a bit of lightly roasted coffee, peanuts and just a hint of spice that rolls off before going much further. There was a taste of tobacco akin to opening a fresh pack box of cigars.” –Isaac M. (The Nothing)
Second Third
Flavor: 90
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium
“Draw and burn are phenomenal, there is a wonderful floral sweetness building on the finish. charred oak loses its char. thick and chewy smoke moves to a more smooth smoke. the floral finishing note is hitting more halfway through the profile.” –Ryan H. (Ryan H.)
“It was definitely not as full-bodied as it started off. Here in the second third, the smoke output was still nice but the body is missing. Flavorwise, I continued to get a tobacco taste that was joined by a nutty flavor, like a peanut butter cookie. Everything about the cigar was much mellower.” –Isaac M. (The Nothing)
Final Third
Flavor: 91
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium-Full
“floral sweetness continues to grow, with mighty oak up front. draw and burn to continue to perform famously. great cigar.” –Ryan H. (Ryan H.)
“The profile felt to be mirroring the second third. A good amount of earthiness with black pepper winding its way throughout. The smoke stayed thick and plentiful till the end.” –Quinn (quinnpins269)
Overall Impressions – Casa de Sueños Fantasia Toro Gordo
Draw: 93
“The large ring gauge lent the cigar to having quite a loose draw. I wish I had used a punch or v-cut.” –Isaac M. (The Nothing)
Burn: 92
“Solid burn on this review. I only have one small touch up towards the end of the second third.” –Quinn (quinnpins269)
Construction: 93
“Nice solid construction proper firmness.” –Jai P. (Jai)
Overall Strength: Medium
Overall Body/Complexity: Medium
Experience Overall: 93
“I would buy boxes of this cigar. so relaxing great taste produced good burn good draw you can’t not buy this cigar you would be missing out if you did.” –Ryan H. (Ryan H.)
“This cigar certainly had some good looks. Firing it up, it really showed some promise with great flavors and generous smoke output. After that, though, the cigar became a near-flavorless mess of ash. The burn was a constant struggle, and the flavor never grew after the first twenty minutes. In fact, they lessened and faded away.” –Isaac M. (The Nothing)
“Would I smoke this cigar again as a 58 ring gauge? Probably not, but I would consider it in a smaller vitola. The heavy cedar at the beginning had me wondering what I was about to get myself into. But the profile was very pleasant throughout and construction was on point.” –Quinn (quinnpins269)
“This cigar was constructed the way a cigar should be. A nice even burn, consistent draw, and no unraveling. Not worrying about construction allows the smoker to focus on what’s important and this cigar delivers. With a nutmeg earthiness introduction, the palate was pleasantly surprised. Getting accustomed to the sweetness there was a change of pace when peppery notes took over. As the cigar came to a close the nutmeg joined the pepper leaving me wanting more.” –Jai P. (Jai)
