Southern Draw Peccadilloes No. 8 Laurel – Blind Cigar Review

"This is a story of the individual parts of this cigar. Initially, I wasn’t convinced I would enjoy the smoke because it really blasted my sinuses on the retro. Each portion, however, changed so significantly that I almost felt like I was smoking a totally new cigar after the transition. Because of the transitions, I was fully engaged with the smoke and really enjoyed it. I would gladly smoke another!" -Jason H. (Jokey Smurf)

"I really enjoyed this cigar and definitely would smoke it again. To me this would be a very good morning cigar or paired later in the day with a nice scotch or light bourbon. Decent smoke output, great flavors and excellent construction were the norm for this one." -James H. (Keikan Jim)

"From beginning to end this cigar performed like a rock star. The transitions in flavors from section to section kept my interest and the flavors were exactly what I look for in a cigar. Cocoa, baking spices, leather, and salted nuts all worked in unison to create a truly enjoyable experience. I would definitely recommend this cigar to anyone. Thanks for the chance to smoke it!" -Kevin J. (maninblack77)

"Overall, this blend has the potential of being a big hit. Whilst it created large plumes of smoke, the construction was big on the loose side, creating burn issues where the cigar’s exterior had a hard time staying lit. Wonderful medium-bodied notes of oak, vanilla, various peppercorns, and malty sweetness provided an intriguing profile that kept me coming back for more. While the construction issue may be a one-off, I would recommend trying this stick out." -John A. (Bostoneo)

"If this cigar was a whiskey, it's Monkey Shoulder. The whole time I smoked this it reminded me of that blended malt whiskey. That aside, this cigar is good and provided great flavors and transitions. It is quite enjoyable and will be revisited again." -Isaac M. (The Nothing)

"This cigar hit all the right notes for me. Flavors were spot on and bold. They worked so well together. These are the types of cigars I'm drawn to generally. This would definitely be a cigar I'd enjoy after a nice steak dinner. And it's definitely one I'd try again. Either as a fiver or as a box buy. " -Kevin J. (maninblack77)

"Overall this cigar had everything going for it. There was plenty of smoke output. Lots of leather, wood, coffee, and walnut notes. It was NOT a one-trick pony, this was a very balanced cigar that held my attention from 1st light to last puff. I would say this is a box purchase for me for sure, and the size was perfect. "A nice quick morning smoke. A very simple cigar with notes of bread, sweet tea, and lots of oak. Minor touch-up is needed to help with the burn. A cigar I'd seek out and add to my humidor. Pairs well with a cup of coffee and a fire." -Sean F. (fullermaine)
