Alec Bradley has announced their Black Market Esteli blend will now come in their limited edition proprietary Diamond vitola. The new shape will be available in June and only 1,500 boxes of 16 cigars will be made in 2020.
The Diamond vitola measures 6 ¼” X 54 and is a special box-press that makes the foot of that cigar into a diamond shape. The blend is slightly different from the regular production Black Market Estelí because of the shape. They have added an extra leaf of Ligero Habano from Nicaragua making the blend a little bolder than regular production. The rest of the blend uses a dark natural wrapper from Nicaragua, a double binder combination of Honduras and Nicaragua and filler from Nicaragua. It is described as medium to full bodied.
This Black Market Estelí Diamond is a followup to Alec Bradley‘s 2014 release of the Nica Puro Diamond Rough-Cut which was the first time the company had used the vitola. The company said that this will effectively replace the Nica Puro Diamond Rough-Cut, meaning that cigar is discontinued.
“The Nica Puro Diamond Rough-Cut has been a hit with premium cigar enthusiasts every year since it was introduced,” said Alec Bradley Director of Sales and Marketing, Jonathan Lipson. “The shape pays homage to (Alec Bradley Founder) Alan Rubin’s triangular cigar – Trilogy. For 2020, we wanted change things up a bit and try diamond pressing the superb Black Market EstelÍ blend. The Black Market EstelÍ Diamond is sure to please palates globally!”
Black Market EstelÍ Diamonds come in 16-count diamond shaped boxes and will sell for $9.85 per cigar. They are rolled at Plasencia Cigars Nicaragua.
