Alec Bradley announced today that this years version of the Black Markey Filthy Hooligan, it’s sixth, will have a tripple barber pole style. The cigar started off in its original form as an all-candela wrapper cigar, the became candela/maduro barber pole, now is candella/habano maduro/Jalapa barber pole.
“In October of 2018 we offered to our tobacconist partners, the world over, the opportunity for the 2019 release of Filthy Hooligan,” said Jonathan Lipson (Alec Bradley Director of Sales & Marketing). “Only 2000 boxes were offered and subsequently sold out in 2 weeks!”
This triple wrapped version, called “The Shamrock” is only available in the American Markey and Only 500 boxes of ten cigars each were made. According to Mr. Lipson, the project was so secretive, that only a few of the Alec Bradley staff were made aware of Shamrock until a couple of weeks ago. Once offered to tobacconists, the boxes were sold out immediately.
Both versions of the Filthy Hooligan are a 6”X 50 Toro. Alec Bradley says the wrappers on Shamrock are: Honduran: Candela, Habano Maduro and Habano Seco, but does not disclose the rest of the blend.
