In 2014, Crowned Heads released their first TAA Exclusive cigar, with “The Angel’s Anvil” ad a clever play on the familiar acronym. Since that first release, the yearly arrival of the TAA cigar from Crowned Heads has always been highly anticipated. The team at Crowned Heads have not been afraid to mix it up either, changing the blend and vitola from year to year. The release for 2018 will, once again, take risks and push boundaries. This is something that has garnered Crowned Heads a loyal following and dedicated customers.
The Crowned Heads TAA 2018 will be a 5 x 52 vitola called Genios. Handmade at Tabacalera La Alianza S.A. in Dominican Republic, this will be the first time the Crowned Heads TAA cigar uses a Sumatra (Ecuador) wrapper. “As this is our fifth year of producing our TAA exclusive cigar, and we have a lot of ties to the Dominican Republic, we wanted to bring something unique and novel, while paying homage to the Dominican Republic.” said Crowned Heads co-founder Jon Huber. Mr. Huber also mentioned the colors of the packaging and bands for the TAA 2018 is inspired by the Dominican flag.
Only 1,000 20-count boxes will be produced, and the cigar will have an MSRP of $11.50 per cigar. Rounding out the unique Sumatra (Ecuador) wrapper, the Crowned Heads TAA 2018 is comprised of binder and filler tobaccos from Nicaragua. The cigars are expected to ship to Crowned Heads retailers in May or June of 2018.
