MOMBACHO CIGARS CELEBRATES 11TH ANNIVERSARY
GRANADA, NICARAGUA. – (21 February 2016). Hosted on a private island in Lake Nicaragua last month, the 11th Annual Mombacho Cigars Anniversary Party celebrated the continued growth of the Mombacho family. Mombacho Cigars, S.A. invited all of their team along with friends, family and retailers to join in the festivities.
“Having 150 people on a private island celebrating 11 years of creating cigar masterpieces is the perfect example of a true ‘Mombacho moment’,” said Claudio Sgroi, President and Master Blender of Mombacho Cigars.
In the days leading up to the Anniversary party, guests were treated to numerous special events in the colonial city of Granada. The guests of Mombacho Cigars were introduced to many of the things that Nicaragua has to offer, some of which included swimming in a local lagoon, climbing the nearby Mombacho volcano, and sampling the local fare.
On Friday, January 27th, guests were invited to experience a private dinner on the rooftop of Mombacho’s factory, Casa Favilli. One of the most historic buildings in Granada, Casa Favilli also offers the only 360-degree view of the historic colonial city. Dinner was prepared by Mombacho staff and several staff members joined the guests for the feast. The night was capped off with speeches from the founding members of Mombacho Cigars along with comments from several happy guests.
The following day, over 150 guests were transported via water taxi to Isla Pico de Garza in Lake Nicaragua for Mombacho’s 11th Anniversary celebration. The island boasted infinity pools, volleyball courts, a soccer field and an abundance of areas for guests to relax and enjoy a cigar and lively conversation. The afternoon culminated with the arrival of local dancers and drummers, prompting further dancing and celebration among the crowd. Everyone was on their feet as the drummers and
dancers gave way to speeches from Mombacho founders Markus Raty and Cameron Heaps. Raty and Heaps invited all guests to dance the night away and celebrate with the Mombacho family for many more years to come in the global tobacco industry.
