Tabacalera William Ventura, the factory in the Dominican Republic behind many cigar brands such as ADVentura, Caldwell Cigar Co., Bellatto Premium Cigars, Freud Cigar Co., Room101, and J. London Cigars has been destroyed in a massive fire.
The fire started close to 3 a.m. local time and was still burning as of 10 a.m. Robert Caldwell of Caldwell Cigars said “they lost about 800,000 cigars that were awaiting packaging or aging.” So far, the cause has not been found, but there are also no injuries reported. According to Marcel Knobel of ADV & McKay Cigars Co., “Nothing is salvageable, but we are grateful our current inventory in the USA and many countries around the world is strong.”
He also said in a statement that they will be moving cigar production to the former Tabacalera William Ventura factory, now known as El Maestro.
I’m a factory owner. I’m a blender. I am a father, and I am a son and have many responsibilities to my family, however, right now my focus is our clients and the consumers. Much love and respect to everyone, and THANK YOU for your patience with us during this difficult time. There’s only one thing to do, and that is to jump right in and rebuild.
