Jay-Z will reportedly hire somebody to hand roll cigars backstage during his US tour with Justin Timberlake later this year.
The duo, who recently collaborated on the track ‘Suit & Tie’ will tour the US under the name Legends Of The Summer and the rapper is keen to have the backstage area be as luxurious as possible. A source tells The Sun that a “cigar expert” will be on hand at all times throughout the tour. “Jay met this cigar expert at a friend’s private party recently. He had been hired to roll cigars for guests in a smoking room,” reveals the source. “They were chatting for ages about the origins of tobacco and all the different types and then Jay-Z offered to have him on board for the tour dates. It goes well with the nature of the tour where there’s going to be a lot of whisky and cigars.”
Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake will preview the Legends Of The Summer tour with a performance at London’s Wireless Festival in July.
Both acts will headline individual dates prior to the joint show, with Justin Timberlake headlining the festival on Friday July 12, and Jay-Z closing the Saturday (July 13). However, the pair will come together for a special preview of their US tour on Sunday July 14. They will be joined by an impressive line-up of hip-hop acts on that date including A$AP Rocky, Nas and A Tribe Called Quest’s first UK show in 20 years.
The London bash, which for the first time this year will take place in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in east London, as opposed to its previous home in Hyde Park, will see Timberlake and Jay-Z make their only UK festival appearances of the summer.
