JR Cigar is adding a legendary cigar to its 50th Anniversary celebration cigars – the Oliva Serie V Melanio. The Oliva Serie V Melanio JR 50th is said to be a special tweaked version of the blend that has been on the market since 2012. It is also a unique shape, being the first rounded version of the cigar sold in the US.
“Oliva is honored to be a part of the 50th anniversary celebration of JR Cigar. We felt it was fitting to do a special size from our most prestigious line to commemorate such a historic occasion.
Cory Bappert, CEO of Oliva Cigars
The Oliva Serie V Melanio JR 50th comes in one size, a 6 x 50 toro, but unlike the rest of the line, it is not box-pressed. It is rolled, like the rest of the line at Tabacalera Oliva de Nicaragua S.A. The blend uses an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, and the binder and filler are a blend of aged Nicaraguan tobaccos. The cigar will come in boxes of ten, and while production numbers were not given, this is a limited run project. Each cigar will cost $15.00 or $127.00 for the box. They are available exclusively at www.JRCigars.com.
