Pre-light

The packaging for this cigar is top notch from the box to the bands. The wrapper has near invisible seams with very few veins running throughout. The cigar feels great in the hand as it’s nice and hefty. Off the wrapper I get lots of sweetness and earthiness.

First Third

The first few puffs I get a some spice on the tongue and just a blast of sweetness. So far this cigar is starting off fairly Mild with cream, honey, and some nuttiness. Very enjoyable start!

Second Third

The second third begins without too much change, just a slight notch up strength-wise. A little further in, the nuttiness fades away with some wood notes fading in. Still getting lots of creamy, sweet goodness with a touch of pepper on the retro but mostly a floral note.

Final Third

In the final third the strength starts to ramp up a bit but the cigar still holds on to that creamy goodness with the wood notes turning to more of a charred wood. Almost a smoked meat taste you get from some BBQ.

Overall Impressions

I had high expectations going into this cigar with it being the 115th anniversary and all the hype over the last year. I have to say it did not disappoint as I enjoyed the flavor profile from beginning to end.  I had to touch up the burn once or twice but overall it performed outstandingly. While the cigar is on the pricey side I would happily light up another given the chance. Highly recommend this cigar.
