Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust StillWell Star Bayou No. 32 – Blind Cigar Review

"Overall this was a great cigar that gave me plenty of flavor transitions with leather, coffee, peanuts, cocoa, and cream, and even threw in some fruit flavors to round it all together. The cigar started out earthy and medium in strength and then developed into a more creamy sweet smoke with a mild to medium strength. I would happily smoke this again and I encourage you to seek these out. I feel this cigar can be enjoyed in the morning with your coffee.....or during your lunch, and even an after-dinner smoke. "It's a shame the construction really took away from what could have been a quality session. The flavor profile was never really a problem, as this was a pleasant smoke flavor-wise. Being on the lighter side, this would work well for an early morning cigar. Unfortunately, when you have to focus on the construction issues as much as I did, it ruins any chance of enjoyment. "Overall I really enjoyed this cigar there were a lot of wood flavors, but into the second and final third there was some nice citrus mixed with some salt flavors that really balanced it out and made the wood flavors seem to dilute. It is for experiences like this…wonderful flavors, excellent performance, and a perfectly relaxing 90 minutes where the troubles of the day disappear and I feel like the richest man in the world. "A solid cigar, that offered some classic notes in coffee and chocolate. Combine that with the punch of habanero, it really was a good example of a traditional cigar for someone looking for a medium-ranged smoking experience. Not full-bodied but also not a breakfast cigar for sure. "This was a very good cigar. I was greeted with a sweetness after the fist inch or so and it did not let up. Later as the cigar progressed I was treated with a celery type of flavor that started at first on the retro, but soon switched to covering my entire palate... so that mix of vegetal and sweetness was the cat's meow. "This was a very good cigar. It stayed in my wheelhouse in the mild to medium strength. This cigar gave me some interesting flavor notes that I appreciated with a mixture of nuts, cedar and other wood notes, root beer (?), salt, and even a salsa note at one point as well as some popcorn aromas on the aromatics. Very enjoyable cigar for the 2 plus hours that I smoked this. I highly recommend picking up a fiver at least. I know I will be picking up more once I know what this is. " -Mickey T. (irratebass)
