Crux Cigars has started shipping the latest new vitola in their Epicure Maduro line: the Epicure Maduro Short Salomone. The new cigar measures 6 x 54 and uses a Mexican San Andres Maduro wrapper with Nicaraguan binder and fillers. The Epicure Maduro line has been around since 2018 and was a maduro extension to the original Connecticut Epicure line.
Today, Crux Cigars announced two new vitolas in the Epicure Maduro line: Corona Gorda and Gordo. The Corona Gorda measures 5.375 x 46 and carries an MSRP of $9.25, and the Gordo measures 6 x 60 and carries an MSRP of $12.50. These new sizes ship next week.
Today, Crux Cigars began shipping it's latest release: Crux Epicure Maduro. This is an extension of 2016's Epicure which used a Connecticut shade wrapper, now replaced with a Mexican San Andres Maduro. Last year Crux announced the Epicure Galant, which on paper is the same blend as this cigar. Since then, the name and factory have been changed. The cigar is now called Epicure Maduro and is made at Tabacalera AJ Fernandez Cigars de Nicaragua S.A. This is the first Crux to be rolled outside Plasencia Cigars S.A.
"It's a fantastic cigar. I'm not going to say it will wow you with it's dynamic profile changes because it won't. The flavors are the same from beginning to end but they're crisp and bold the entire time. It just does so many things right that it's impossible not to recommend and if I was after a great experience that I was just wanting to relax and enjoy smoking I would reach for again and again. Earlier this year, Crux Cigars announced a total rebrand for their company including new logos, boxes and bands for all their cigars. Crux showed these off at the IPCPR 2019 trade show in Las Vegas. The first phase of this rebrand includes Epicure, Epicure Maduro, and Guild blends in all their viotlas. This first phase is the portion shipping now. Phase 2 will include Limitada and the Bull & Bear and will take place later in the year.
