Crowned Heads announced today a limited edition release vitola of their Juarez line: Juarez Shots XX. The XX, meaning 20, represents the release year. The Shots XX is a petite robusto measuring 4 x 50 and uses the same blend as the rest of the line.
Crowned Heads is releasing a line extension to it's Juarez brand, Juarez Chihuahua. No, it's not a reference to the dog breed, but rather the state in northern Mexico that that dog breed happens to be named after. Juarez is actually one of the 67 municipalities of the state of Chihuahua, in northern Mexico.
'Juarez' is a followup to the 2014 cigar 'Jericho Hill'. That cigar was inspired by the Johnny Cash song 'Cocaine Blues'. This Thompson Cigar exclusive has a Mexican San Andres wrapper like the Jericho hill, but that is where the similarity ends. It uses an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and filler from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. It will come in 20 count boxes in three vitolas: 4 3/4 x 52, 6 x 54, and 5 x 56 all parejo shape. The price ranges from $5.95-$7.95.
