Lustrum is a term used to describe a period of five years. Southern Draw is celebrating its 5 year anniversary with a special cigar series named after this period: LUSTRUM. The company plans a similar release every 5 years. Production will be limited to 25,000-75,000 each release. The first in this series will make it's debut at IPCPR 2019: Kudzu LUSTRUM.
"I really enjoyed this experience. If there were no draw issues at the beginning I would have been even more enchanted with it. There were enough sweetness and shifting of core flavors that I never found myself bored and towards the middle, I found the smoke became almost honeyed in texture. I certainly recommend picking one up and could see myself keeping a fiver on hand." -Alan (Eulogy)
The first new release for Southern Draw at IPCPR 2019 will be the Jacobs Ladder Brimstone. This makes the fifth size in the Jacobs Ladder lineup in a 6" x 56 perfecto. This new viotla will sell for $11.99 and come in boxes of 20 along with 20-count refills.

"I could smoke this cigar any day of the week. Totally enjoyable with three distinct portions each with similar yet nuanced flavors. I would deem this box worthy and I can't wait to find out what it is." -Jack (Jack_H)
The IGNITE Series from Southern Draw Cigars has recently brought quite a bit of attention to the Texas-based cigar brand. The special vitolas in special packaging have also helped to raise awareness and bring some good attention to Operation Cigars for Warriors. Now, Southern Draw has announced the third release in the series.
Southern Draw Cigars announce that the Jacob's Ladder cigar will be released in a box press Lancero as the first special release for the IGNITE some good charitable strategy. The new Lancero is being made by hand at the A.J. Fernandez Cigar Co. in Esteli, Nicaragua. Known as the TOP RUNG, this format is for Casa de Montecristo which coincides with the Texas Cigar Festival. The Jacob's Ladder is an award-winning blend and was named to the 2017 Blind Man's Puff Top 25 List. This box pressed lancero will be extremely limited and available at many of the Casa de Montecristo locations.
Southern Draw is expanding the available sizes in the Desert Rose, Manzanita and Jacobs Ladder Brimstone lines. These new sizes include two new line extensions for the Desert Rose, one new size in the Jacobs Ladder Brimstone, and a new size in their newest core blend, Manzanita. All will be regular production.
"The flavors on the cigar were interesting and complex from the get-go. While the strength never passed a solid medium the taste was a journey starting with a sweet floral beginning into the more spicy cedar middle followed by a super complex end with nuts and pepper. The ash and burn were pretty much perfect. My only real complaint was how fast it smoked timing in at just over an hour. I will be grabbing some more of whatever this is for a nice morning cigar." -Lauren S. (Lauren S.)
"I won't lie; I have a love-hate relationship any time I come across a lancero. When done properly, they're typically the best means of expressing a profile for me. The problem is the consistency overall with them. Some require constant relighting if you're not tending to it perfectly with your draws, some burn super hot when you do, others draw like you're trying to suck a marble through a straw. None of these experiences are ideal in my book. Fortunately, this one gave me none of these problems. It was a nice profile mix of chocolate and cinnamon with some heavy doses of pepper starting out. I'd be willing to smoke it again, but probably not enough to run out and pick up a box or two. " -Doug S. (Unpossible_1)
