"Overall this was a great cigar that gave me plenty of flavor transitions with leather, coffee, peanuts, cocoa, and cream, and even threw in some fruit flavors to round it all together. The cigar started out earthy and medium in strength and then developed into a more creamy sweet smoke with a mild to medium strength. I would happily smoke this again and I encourage you to seek these out. I feel this cigar can be enjoyed in the morning with your coffee.....or during your lunch, and even an after-dinner smoke. I am curious to know what this was." -Mickey T. (irratebass)
"This was a very sweet deep dark chocolate fruity smoke. I don't often like sweet smoking cigars but this one was very enjoyable. The retrohale was very different with complex sweetness, red pepper bursts, and pipe tobacco flavor to it. I would really like to have a couple more of these to try and possibly consider added to my humidor. For the blind tasting I had a Mexican mineral water but I believe a good bourbon or peaty scotch would pair excellently with this smoke." -Chad M. (Chad Tchad)
One of the most anticipated releases for the PCA trade show in 2021 is Steve Saka and Dunbarton Tobacco & Trusts' StillWell Star. He's been teasing the new release for month but tight-lipped about the details, even going so far as to say this would be the most controversial release of the year. Now, thanks to a special Facebook Live press release, we know the details.
Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust has started shipping the inaugural annual Holiday release of its StillWell Star cigar using luxury pipe tobacco. The cigar itself, simply called the “Holiday Y2022”, is a blend of traditional black cigar tobaccos combined with a unique custom crafted aromatic pipe blend from the pipe tobacco maker Cornell & Diehl.
The highly anticipated StillWell Star by Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust and Steve Saka is officially launching this Friday, November 5th. It will be exclusive to Smokingpipes.com and its brick-and-mortar store Low Country Pipe & Cigar for the time being. This marks the first time Dunbarton has launched a new national product at a single store. The company says it will be several weeks before the nationwide release.
