Today, Padilla Cigars announced a new collaboration with AJ Fernandez, Poetica. The project is in honor of Ernesto Padilla‘s father, famed Cuban Poet turned political activist who was exiled from Cuba.
A press release says that the blend for the project is complete 900 pre-release Poetica cigars have been rolled in a box pressed robusto vitola. The pre-release bands simply show “Top Secret.” The final band is being designed, but the company provided an early rendering.
The blend uses an aged Habano wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. The cigar band is currently being designed. The pre-release will be sold to choice small to midsize brick and mortar shops to support them during the pandemic. They will also be sold online. Pre-release sales start 5/15/2020 and they expect the final product to be ready July.
