Initial Impressions – Jake Wyatt Appendix II Robusto

Appearance: 93

“Looks like a FINALLY!!!!! This is a cool-looking cigar. It’s a barber style, but not really. The main wrapper looks to be a Colorado color along with maybe some or Sumatra wrappers. The said wrapper wraps around the head maybe two times then comes to a circle at the end (see pic for reference) then at the foot there are 3 rings but no circle at the end.” –Mickey T. (irratebass)

Aroma: 91

“Hay and floral smells emit from the wrapper same aroma from the foot but less powerful.” – ()

First Third
– Blind Cigar Review

First Third

Flavor: 91
Strength: Mild-Medium
Body/Complexity: Light-Medium

“Light medium in strength. Very muddy and creamy. Cream and hay set in with just a detectable amount of spice. Very balanced and good. Cream and pepper now the most of the profile. Sweet hay just barely there. Very simple but very enjoyable cigar.” – ()

“Let’s light up! Upon breaking into the cigar sweet notes stack on top of an intense leathery and minor corn notes, mild-medium bodied profile. Moving past the initial burn in period, this cigar develops a tasty roasted pepper aspect to it as a more cedar like presence builds on the back end of this third.” –John A. (Bostoneo)

Second Third
– Blind Cigar Review

Second Third

Flavor: 91
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium

“The second third begins with a medium-bodied profile of tasty notes on leather, cedar, and salted peanuts while moving into this section. Not much in the way of transitions occur, just an easy smoking experience with an enjoyable profile keeps on giving a good time!” –John A. (Bostoneo)

“Some of the sourness has toned down from the first third. The draw is still too tight and smoke output is still very thin. The only real addition in terms of flavor is a bit of leather is coming through now. Still, it is mostly a mineral heavy blend with milder notes of pepper, hay, and grass. ” – (Eulogy)

Final Third

Flavor: 87
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium

“A continuation of darker notes and medium in strength the cabernet sauvignon profile just amazing. The burn was straight the whole way draw was acceptable.” – ()

“I’m mostly getting a sour, salty, mineral profile with a thin body. A slightly metallic flavor is starting to develop but that may just be the mineral note evolving. There’s still a mild amount of pepper, vegetal note, and grassy finish. ” – (Eulogy)

Draw: 94

“Excellent draw. Only a slight bit of resistance. ” –Mickey T. (irratebass)

Burn: 95

“Excellent burn, no touch ups needed. Burned cool and plenty of ash. ” –Mickey T. (irratebass)

Construction: 95

“The skill needed to make the designs is impressive and very well executed. The seams could have been a little tighter but everything else was well done. ” – (Eulogy)

Overall Body/Complexity: Medium
Experience Overall: 90

“I enjoyed this cigar from beginning to end. I don’t know if I would push a multi-box cigar outta this one but definitely, a 10 pack to box purchase is well deserved.” – ()

“It’s very impressive to look at and certainly a conversation piece but the flavors are just out of my wheelhouse. The sour, mineral flavors were pretty constant and there was an almost complete lack of strength with made it feel a bit flat.” – (Eulogy)

“Man I really wanted to like this cigar. I looked forward to smoking this as soon as I received it. It is just so cool looking, I’m a sucker for gimmicks. Sadly the only flavors were in the beginning with the darker wrappers. Maybe it should have been a barber pole style then at least there would have been some flavor to this cigar and keep the smoker on their toes. Unfortunately, this cool-looking cigar didn’t fit my profile. Oh well, I would smoke it again.” –Mickey T. (irratebass)

“While not the most complex cigar, it was mighty tasty for the flavors it gave, never becoming sour, even at the end. The artwork on the cigar itself was very appealing and a nice change of pace from the norm, giving it a special feeling and anxiousness to light it up and smoke it! For smokable art, it was a mighty fine cigar which I wouldn’t mind smoking again in the future.” –John A. (Bostoneo)
