Alec & Bradley Cigars and Cigar Dojo are marking the quadrennial occasion with the return of the Uru Doshi cigar, four years after its initial launch. Named after the Japanese term for “leap year,” the Uru Doshi made its first appearance on February 29, 2020, representing the inaugural collaboration between Alec and Bradley Rubin of Alec Bradley fame.
The 2024 Uru Doshi retains portions of the unique blend of Honduran and Nicaraguan leaves from its original inception, the 2024 iteration introduces fine adjustments to the tobacco primings for a refined and slightly more intense smoking experience. In a notable change, the original Jamastran wrapper has been replaced with a select Honduran Criollo ’98 leaf from the Trojes region, promising to deliver a new taste profile.
Collectors and enthusiasts who have kept the 2020 Uru Doshi will be able to engage in a rare aging comparison, one of the most unique among limited series cigars.
I can’t believe it’s been four years since the first Uru Doshi release, yet here we are. We tweaked the blend to allow for an amped-up smoking experience. It was worth the wait!
Eric Guttormson, owner of Cigar Dojo
Working with Cigar Dojo on Uru Doshi is one of my favorite projects. We updated the blend to make it the right smoke for 2024. We can’t wait for people to experience it.
Bradley Rubin, brand ambassador for Alec Bradley
