Aganorsa Leaf is set to honor the memory of its Master Blender, Arsenio Ramos, who passed away in 2018, with the introduction of the Aganorsa Leaf Arsenio cigar line at the 2024 PCA Tradeshow. Born in Cuba in 1934, Ramos dedicated his life to tobacco, making significant contributions to the industry both in Cuba and later in Nicaragua with Aganorsa, where he was instrumental in developing the company’s signature flavor profile.
Eduardo Fernandez, the founder of Aganorsa Leaf, praised Arsenio as a towering figure in Cuban tobacco, highlighting his role in crafting the unique taste of Aganorsa’s leaf that harks back to traditional Cuban cigars. The blend chosen for the Arsenio line was one of Ramos’s favorites, embodying his lifetime of dedication to tobacco craftsmanship.
Arsenio was a giant of the Cuban Tobacco Industry. He was a self-taught man of humble means, a true craftsman. He was a great human being who was instrumental in creating the singular flavor that distinguishes the richness of Aganorsa’s leaf, taking us back to the traditions of a true Habano of old. This blend was his favorite and a tribute to his lifetime of work.

Terence Reilly, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Aganorsa, emphasized the meticulous effort put into this project to ensure it adequately reflects Ramos’s legacy and impact on the company. The line will be available in three sizes: a 5 1/4 x 54 Robusto, a 6 x 52 Toro, and a 6 x 44 Corona, the latter being Ramos’s preferred size. Set to be an annual limited release, the 2024 production will consist of 2,000 boxes of Toro and Robusto each, and 1,500 boxes of Corona, all made exclusively with Aganorsa Leaf tobaccos and embodying a Cubanesque profile in tribute to Ramos.
