2022 will be the tenth iteration Filthy Hooligan project It has evolved of the years starting out as a straight Candela wrapper cigar from 2013-2015. Starting in 2016 the Filthy Hooligan was a Barber Pole with Nicaraguan Habano and Candela wrappers. Then, in 2019 the Filthy Hooligan was introduced making it a triple barber pole with natural Nicaraguan Habano, maduro Nicaraguan Habano and candela wrappers.

Hooligans have become a perpetual conversation piece for the cigar community. Anticipation is built up by our brand advocates year over year, ahead of a release. Because of that, more smokers are finding the opportunity to experience the unique flavor characteristics that candela tobacco can bring to a blend.

According to a press release, has secured a specially selected aged candela wrapper from Nicaragua to keep limited quantities of the Hooligans available for 2022. With the increasing popularity and consumption of the green wrapper in European markets, aged candela is becoming very difficult to source. In order to keep the project viable, is limiting the upcoming release of Filthy Hooligan Barber Pole to 2000, twenty-four count boxes (48,000 cigars) and 1500, ten count boxes (15,000 cigars) of Filthy Hooligan .

The Barber Pole and are both toros that measure 6 x 50. Besides the wrappers, the two cigars share the same tobaccos inside the blend which are a Sumatra binder, with Panamanian and Honduran filler tobaccos.

Both Filthy Hooligan cigars are being rolled at Tobacos De Oriente in Danli, Honduras and will ship February 2022.
