Initial Impressions
Appearance: 89
“Dark dry toothy wrapper. Lots of small bumps near the cap. Sometimes the ugly ones try harder…” –Gregg (McGreggor57)
“The cigar is a box press with a slight bulge in the middle part. Dark chocolate in color. The surface is smooth, some veins visible. Not the best looking but also not the worst looking.” –Sandeep (Djangos)
Aroma: 91
“A nice subtle aroma of baking spices, cinnamon and cocoa.” –Will (Dubv23)
First Third
Flavor: 90
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium
“Very peppery to start off with. A mix of white and black pepper blast into your mouth and settle to the back of the throat. The sweet aromas that were present on the dry puff are not all that apparent at this time. There is a slight harshness which is more at the back of the throat as well. Some woodsy flavors are also coming through. The harshness is slightly off putting.” –Sandeep (Djangos)
“Light coffee, cedar and aged tobacco flavors on light up. A taste of allspice with a white pepper kick along with a mild coffee flavor finished up the first third.” –Ron (shuckins)
Second Third
Flavor: 90
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium
“A dry cedar flavor has joined the allspice and light coffee tastes as the white pepper fades a bit. Just over halfway with no real change in flavors, although the pepper did jump back in, givining it a much appreciated kick.” –Ron (shuckins)
“The second third was a spitting image with a layering of spices that were not harsh or overpowering. Most notable was a sweet cinnamon amongst others. These spices were intertwined with a leathery core which added some depth but again was dry and chalky which took away from the overall flavor.” –Will (Dubv23)
Final Third
Flavor: 88
Strength: Medium
Body/Complexity: Medium
“The subtle sweet nut bread is becoming more prominent with the coffee moving to the background. A little spice and cedar on the retrohale. Still tons of smoke, but some of the dryness is returning. Further into this third the spice is picking up and the flavor profile from the original third is returning.” –Gregg (McGreggor57)
“The harshness is back and so is the pepper that is ramping up quite rapidly. The other flavors are drowned at this point. There is pepper and a woody harshness all throughout my mouth. The wrapper is beginning to peel a bit. Not very enjoyable at this point.” –Sandeep (Djangos)
Overall Impressions
Draw: 95
“Smooth and easy draw with plenty of smoke.” –Ron (shuckins)
Burn: 88
“A bit wavy at times but the stick always corrected itself. The ash held on past the halfway mark.” –Gregg (McGreggor57)
Construction: 91
“Well built with a unique shape and easy smoking experience. Draw was good but the burn suffered a bit.” –Will (Dubv23)
Overall Strength: Medium
Overall Body/Complexity: Medium
Overall Experience: 89
“Despite any initial preconceived ideas base on its appearance, this cigar smoked surprisingly well. No single flavor dominated but the dryness of the first and final third was a turn off. I did enjoy the nuttiness in the middle and the mild coffee helped keep the flavors together.” –Gregg (McGreggor57)
“Too peppery for my taste, strong enough that it drowned many of the other flavors. Not in my flavor profile.” –Sandeep (Djangos)
“Not too dimensional, but an enjoyable cigar that I would smoke again.” –Ron (shuckins)
“Overall this smoke was unlike anything I have ever smoked before. It had a unique shape and some unique and enjoyable flavors. It was more mild…teetering on the medium side but this allowed the flavors to shine through nicely. However, the cigar never really shyed away from its core assortment of spices and sweetness which did tend to lose my interest after the second third.” –Will (Dubv23)
