Blind Cigar Review: Diesel | Heart of Darkness Score 90%

Blind Cigar Review: Diesel | Heart of Darkness

“For the most part this was a nice cigar. It had some personality. The wood and nutmeg flavors were nicely balanced for most of the time. There was a bit if hickory in the final third but not for long. The smoke provided a nice smell of camp fire and the flavors left in the mouth were very nice. While it did start of mellow, it slowly became bold towards the end. The final moments did produce the bitter flavors you would experience at the end of most cigars. Overall this would pair nicely with a single malt or even a mixed drink while sitting by a camp fire.” -Eric (smalls29)

Blind Cigar Review: Ventura Cigar | PSyKo Seven Connecticut Corona

“Wow… whatever this is I want more for my collection. This is one of those mild smokes that you just have to have for a nice relaxing session where you can kick back and relax while you enjoy the experience. More complex than most mild cigars, it had a great flavor profile from each third to another and it never got bitter at the end like some lighter smokes get. Two thumbs up.” -John A. (John A.)

Blind Cigar Review: Hoyo | La Amistad by AJ Fernandez Robusto

“Overall this was a good smoke. I think this would not be a good first cigar of the day, but if you had a full day of smoking this would be a nice 2nd or 3rd stick of the day. Just beware it does pick up the spice in the final 1/3rd and through the whole 2nd third, but becomes a nice pleasant smoke at the end.” -Mickey T. (irratebass)

Blind Cigar Review: Cohiba | Blue Robusto

“My vocabulary of superlatives are inadequate to do this justice. Easily one of the best, and most memorable cigars I’ve ever had. Complex, and really nicely nuanced. It doesn’t really progress through “changes” like a lot of cigars, instead there are all kinds of things happening, all the time.” -John I. (John I.)

Blind Cigar Review: The Oscar | Habano Toro

“This was an excellent cigar, and one I may request before facing execution by a firing squad. Flavors, complexity, and construction are all on point. I believe this is a cigar that will stand up to multiple cigars a day as the flavors are bold and evident. I’ll be seeking these out if they are readily available in this exact vitola, no additional aging time is needed. Smoke this cigar after a salty fatty steak and thank me later.” -Matt C. (Big Matt)

Blind Cigar Review: AVO | Syncro South America Ritmo Toro

“In terms of flavor, this would likely be a good introductory cigar for a novice. The flavor profile is light, accessible and pleasant. Creamy, floral and mild mannered with a bit of a kick toward the end. Anyone with an interest in experiencing cigars would likely be impressed. The construction problems would be a drawback for a newcomer however.” -John I. (John I.)

Blind Cigar Review: Alpha | Absinthe Infused Claro Half Corona

“I am always looking for that perfect short/winter smoke. When I pulled out this half corona I was excited. I was a bit nervous to do a review on this small of a cigar as it’s really hard to break it up into thirds. The cigar smoked great with some nice balance of flavor to start. As the cigar warmed I did get a bitter taste that came and went. I would pick up some of these for that quick winter smoke!” -Zane G. (Zane)

Blind Cigar Review: La Flor Dominicana | Air Bender Maduro Chisel

“I wanted to rate this cigar higher. The beginning and middle had some really nice flavors coming through. The smoke output on each draw was plentiful. The oily wrapper and chisel tip made it easy to smoke. All that, and then the final third hit a brick wall. Relights galore and harsh flavors just made the overall rating from me fall off a cliff. I would hope this stick was an anomaly in an otherwise solid blend. If I had stopped after the second third I would be happy.” -Matthew T. (A Huge Nerd)

Blind Cigar Review: J. Fuego | Connoisseur Originals

“This was a really nice cigar. After the first few draws, the cigar really picked up and the flavors came through. They were rich and full flavors that had a medium body and complexity. The cigar smoked well and was very easy by just lighting and going. I was initially worried about the look of this cigar, but it smoked quite well.” –Steve (ThaGreatWazoo)

Blind Cigar Review: Dissident | Soap Box Rant

“I was pleasantly surprised by this cigar. I am a big fan of this vitola and this particular cigar is a great example of why. Without being overly strong, this blend likely benefited from some intensified flavors caused by the smaller ring gauge. I was impressed by the sweetness and spicy balance of this smoke for sure. I would definitely keep a few of these on hand for a lunch smoke or a quick after-dinner nightcap. I would recommend pairing this with a good black tea, as the flavors are quite complimentary.” -Ryan (Youngryan216)
