Blind Cigar Review: Cubariqueño | Protocol Official Misconduct Toro

“This one ran the spectrum of boldness. It started out with a medium bold taste that grew very bold and biter and then became mild in the final third. I was happy with the consistent flavors of wood and nut throughout which helped maintain some of the enjoyment of this smoke. The second third saw some bitterness come in but it wasn’t so bitter that I wanted to out it down. I was surprised by how it mellowed towards the end. Still, all in all, a very nice experience.” -Eric (smalls29)

“I find myself enjoying this more while reflecting back on it. The flavor profile was a very traditional style Nicaraguan with tobacco, cedar, leather, and pepper but it all worked very well when taken as a whole. The retrohale provided a bit of a break from the draw and even though the draw was a bit tight it was a good cigar for what it was. It’s not a game changing cigar but it’s a solid smoke and certainly worth your time. ” -Alan (Eulogy)

“This was probably one of my most favorite reviews that I have done. I was dreading initially smoking this cigar only because of the vitola and amount of time I knew was required. However, as soon as the first third started and the flavor profile showed itself, I was hooked. Between the good balance of earth and barnyard, to the coffee and creamy finish, this cigar had an overall complexity that was second to none. You will need to block off a solid amount of time, but by no means will you be disappointed. This cigar will go well with coffee, libations, or a Pepsi. Enjoy these as much as possible.” -Steve (ThaGreatWazoo)

“This was a great smoking cigar. The variance and complexity of flavors offered were amazingly tasty and made it hard to not just want to hotbox this thing because it was THAT good. That being said, I’ll defiantly recommend this cigar to any smoker as it is a mild to medium stick with uddles of semi sweet flavors. I need a box… stat. ” –John A. (Bostoneo)

“Phew, after smoking this I need a nap… it was strong! Quite a bit of flavors going on at the start but this mellows out into a standard flavor profile as the pure strength of this smoke overwhelmed what other complexities there could have been. If you want a full full full flavored and nic buzz, hey try this out would ya? I enjoyed it, but not something I could smoke quite often!” -John A. (Bostoneo)

“This was a nice mild to medium smoke, which only got into the straight medium in the final third. The cigar was very smooth with a small sweetness that held my attention that resembled marshmallow. I highly recommend this cigar as you first smoke of the day with morning coffee. I would like to smoke more of these.” -Mickey T. (irratebass)

“Have you ever lit up a cigar with no preconceived notions, and after the fist puff you say to yourself, or out loud “Damn, this is nice?” well I did and that same thought stayed with me the entire smoke. Just a great amount of cream/honey and sweetness. This would be an excellent first cigar of the day with or without coffee. My only complaint was it was so short, but maybe that was the maker’s intention, to keep you coming back for more. I personally would like to keep these in my humi, for when I need that perfect smoking experience. ” -Mickey T. (irratebass)

“This cigar was mediocre in my opinion. There was not much complexity. Smooth notes of spice and hay were the cornerstones, but the char crept in and took over through the second and final third of the cigar. A little age might do this cigar some good, so do not give up entirely on this stick. It might grow into something very good.” -Steve (ThaGreatWazoo)

“This was a thoroughly enjoyable stick with its strong points being the first two thirds. Whoever blended this cigar meant to create something special with a very flavorful mix of tobaccos that pleased my pallete immensely. I can only hope the price point on this stick is reasonable so I can stock up!” -John A. (John A.)
